Quoted from mr2xbass:Do you have four balls installed?
spring break does not have a trough switch for each ball and the software keeping track of where all the balls are can get confused and then the game does not start. In this case when you push start the game the lights all turn off, you get the record skip static sound and nothing happens. Seems like mine will get into this state if I power it off with a ball in the shooter lane or if I power it off mid ball and then the next time turned on its confused about where all the balls are and I have to recycle the balls dropping into the trough and then its fine.
Try unloading all the balls. Turn the game on and then drop them into the trough one at a time. Make sure all the ball trough, shooter lane, outhole kicker, and shooter lane kicker coil are all working OK.
