After months of not being able to work on the electrical problems with the Spot Bowler estate sale find I picked up last October. Finally started a couple of weeks ago.

When first turned on, start button didn't work, tripped start relay from inside cabinet and score motor ran continuously and 10,000 point relay stuck on and buzzed loudly. Went through every switch / contact on the play field to clean and adjust, 3 times. Finally on the third time ----- it works. Before and after pics attached and link to You Tube video:

Not that it is perfect of course. It doesn't seem to be counting balls correctly and doesn't know when the 5th ball has finished to end a game. Occasionally score motor won't stop spinning until one of the rollovers is engaged by the ball. It is not set up for free play, so I will have to research that. Not sure it is scoring correctly and have light hum from a couple of coils at times. And while when I am not taking a video the left flipper works - the contacts are completely gone from the switch.

But, after probably 20 years or more of not working, it's alive.

Congrats - Spot Bowler is a truly classic woodrail.

Good luck and on your remaining restoration of it!

You have a rare find my friend, 1st pin with flippers pointing inwards and really where it all came together for pinball!

What a find! I think it's right up there with "Mermaid" for scarceness. It's definitely worth any efforts you need to make to get it looking good and playing well again.

Thanks for the notes, and while it is not playing well yet, it has been fun to play so far.

Alive and WELL... by now, I hope.

One of my favorite woodrails... and a real 'player's game'.

And NO, all you PINHEADS... I'm not talking about the 'cosmetic condition' of the game.

See what I 'did' there?

Thanks, and having just got it working, enjoying getting to know it's playing quirks. But also have to work on flippers some as they definitely aren't full strength. Also, surprised to find that the coin mech still works. A nickle a game!!! If you are up in the better part of the state some time and want to come try it, let me know.

And likewise, if you're ever in my neck o' the woods.
