Hello all. I’m involved in designing a lounge for a women’s college volleyball team. The wish lists include some arcade games including a pinball machine. I have been appointed to find a machine for their lounge. Can y’all give me some ideas of machines for this age group and college athletes that are women? 18-22 year old females? Sports pins? Music Pins? Licensed Pins? TIA

If I had to pick one it would be World Cup Soccer. I am not even big into sports and that is a very fun pin for all ages, genders. Taxi would be my second choice, the learning curve is pretty easy - another all around fun pin for all.

Outside a random woodrail and a Brazilian retheme, unfortunately there’s nothing volleyball-related. Other sports have lots of options, probably soccer, then basketball, and then baseball in order of quality of games and number of titles readily available. Then you can go from sports to lounge games as there’s countless bowling and billiard games.

You need to look at budget as that will dictate what’s available. A $1k budget means you’re looking for the first decent looking EM available. A $10k budget opens you up to 90% of pins out there (formally 99% before the shortages and gouging). Good luck with the hunt.

Gottlieb did make a wedgehead in 1976 called volley. Not sure exactly what sport it shows on the art. Shouldn’t be to hard to track one down

Your options are going to be limited to whatever is available near you.

I'd buy anything that has multiball and is a solid build. Bally, Williams, or Stern. The newer, the better imo.

Volleyball players tend to be tall, maybe play/like basketball as well? Sega Space Jam, Stern NBA or Bally NBA Fastbreak.

I'd look at long-term leasing from somebody who places games on location with a reputation for maintaining their games. Would be a shame to pick something up and it be broken in a few months with nobody knowing how to get it fixed.

NBA Fastbreak, World Cup Soccer, both are fairly common to find and not too expensive. Bonus: They’re super fun!

I watched some of a stream of Super Hoops. No idea who made it or what their reputation may be, but it looks pretty solid. However, if it’s going to be in a more public place, I’d find something that is easy to fix with ready available replacement parts. Not sure how that would play out with Super Hoops.
