Just confirmed from Squirrel, the 20-40 pins per week is definitely a mix of JCH and UKR. So if we assume the ratio previously mentioned of 2 : 1 on the floor you should be able to roughly guesstimate your build week at 10/wk for UKR. (YMMV)

For example if your #100 your build will be ten weeks out so expect to see an email from Spooky about 7 weeks from now.

This only counts for CE AFAIK, because they will likely need to switch the lines to entirely JCH CE until they get built out, then back to a 2 : 1 build for the BSEs, and repeat for SEs.

#1252 2 years ago
Quoted from Morinack:We are all assuming the email saying 20 - 40 per week is for both models.
They didn't combine the total counts of 1750 in the email, and they didn't give a build ratio, so there is some possibility the 20 - 40 could be just for Ultraman.
While this is highly unlikely there is a chance.
The back box signed is done on the back of the backbox. I asked prebuild to have the Spooky team sign my Rick and Morty and they were happy to do it. Its pretty cool.

Yup, you're totally tight, I miscounted at first! Though I checked my notes and I guess I figured it out myself before I s a w this here, cause my notes say I'm roughly the 489th built, falling between October 16 and January 10th. I'm ready to be patient over here.

Good info on the autograph. I totally want it signed, but was debating if a signature on the backglass would make a pretty machine less so.

Just food for thought, I emailed and requested that the Spooky team sign my R&M when it was on the line. I had them do it on the back of the head, which you cannot see while playing, but its there whenever I look at the back of the machine (almost never... lol). Just a cool thing to have and something they seem more than happy to do. At least at their current size. Someday when they overtake Stern and are putting out thousands of games, I do not see this as being a viable option.

BSE 428...

See you guys in 16 months.

#1255 2 years ago

I am just 5 machines ahead of you. I expect between 14 and 16 months before I get mine. Luckily a few CE UM and HWN are coming to friends here in CO so I will get to play it sooner than next fall .

There's other stuff coming in the area...I know some local people bought one game or the other, but....yeah. I expect I'll see it at TPF and that will be it. I don't really go to other people's houses....they're always doing shit on Saturdays, and I fucking work on Saturdays for the last 13 years. Tried to bid to have it off the last two times, nope...13 years of seniority still isn't enough.

I got a bro getting Halloween #188, so I can get my fix with his while I wait for mine. And a bar owner friend is getting Ultraman #113, so I'll have access to both pretty soonish.

Nice. I have some hope that Cidercade may have snagged one. They seem to like buying LE's for their location. Maybe they spent the money. I need to go over there and give TMNT / Led Zep / Mando / AIQ a shot. Damn, I've missed a lot of Sterns at this point. o_o

A good friend will have one of the first off the line (in the first 50 that Spooky "reserves") so I am hopeful I can get my hands on that one in a few weeks at most.

See you guys in 16 months.

I am going to give a loose projection here.
I am thinking you will be closer to 13 months.

Calcs based on 375 CE for Ultraman and 1000 CE for Halloween.

We should start a pool.

ULTRAMAN

#1269 2 years ago

That is a gorgeous sight

#1270 2 years ago

Awesome to see! That is 25 Halloween on the line, maybe more as the angle of the photo cuts of a few more from sight at the bottom of the pic. It looks like the top left of the photo has at least one finished and being boxed on a pallet. It’s cool to see an Ultraman being born.

If I were getting Ultraman, it would be a no brainer. Its going to look great!!

Wow, wasn't expecting that art at the top of the playfield...that's awesome.

Calling what Spooky is doing amateur hour just because they had a ball fall through the apron into the cabinet when streaming R&M. Reminds me of that douche that wanted to return his ACNC because the coin door lock arm fell off or wasn't installed at the factory.

Yeah I had to stop watching. Total cringefest. I felt like I was sitting in an adjacent booth at a diner accidentally overhearing two dudes talking things out. Guy on the left has no love for Spooky and it was fine but it kept going and going…

Sorry, Kaneda has a much better show even though his is just a podcast. Would love to see a Special K YouTube vid. Kinda like ‘Cary Hardy meets Chris’ would be fun.

I was originally a butter skeptic, but after going butter on R&M it's hard to go back. For UM/CE, I'm definitely going butter.

#1285 2 years ago

Anyone know of other playfields that have had a hole that big?

Right orbit wood looks only about 2” wide.

I’m sure it’s fine.

At least it has a side rail that goes the entire length of the playfield. Dr Who has a gap around the top right area and the playfield will droop in that area.

That 2 piece inner orbit guide seems odd.

Art looks Great.

I thought it was two piece at first as well but your zoom-in made me realize it's just one piece cut down on the left for the upper areas.

I was playing my Rick and Morty while listening and as he was complaining about the unhittable shots, I hit 6 left ramps with 4 backed by upper orbits to the garage shot.

He then went on to fawn over LZ. Mentioning multiple times that he could play it for 45 minutes on a singel game...
as if that was appealing to most pinball players

Not a good showing for Nick.

Still, big fan of Buffalo Pinball and all the pinball content they stream.

This is why Spooky doesn't want to show the game.
Pinside: "I see potential problems everywhere"

At least wait until you play it before you start looking for negatives.
Also, that inner guide is clearly one piece at two heights.

Who has time to watch that stuff for over 2 hours?

People who live in Buffalo, NY.

#1295 2 years ago

Possible others will come forward rather than the other way around which could be good!

Hopefully. Either way all good. I am sure Spooky will sort it out to be fair and keep shipping cost low for us.

I know. Thinking about it myself. Would be so awesome as a butter. Hopefully someone post up a pic of one before I have to choose.

I think it was a fair assessment of R&M. I own it, I love it …. now that it’s dialed in. But I spent a lot of time, money, sweat, and tears (drilling into a new playfield) getting it there. I shouldn’t have to rebuild the playfield. I know other people had better experiences out of the box, but I didn’t.

I’m also in on a UMCE so I have confidence that Spooky has learned from their past. At least I’m willing to give them the benefit of the doubt. We’ll see soon enough.

Led Zeppelin… meh. I’m over the music and can’t imagine listening to the same 10 songs a million more times.

Welcome to the family! We are one behind each other to boot! I reached out yesterday and asked if I could make the drive to pick my #16 up. Super excited to be an early adopter on Ultraman.
