Quoted from Rascal_H:Soo... I thought Ultraman was a big Godzilla sized man... no?
Yes, he is generally gigantic, building-sized. Although, I'm not sure if he might have size-changing abilities in some versions/series.
I imagine that a person would need to the comic issue in question in order to find out why he is so small there.

Wow, you're on a roll there Mark! I've only ordered Fathom Mermaid since R&M and hoping for Godzilla to be announced from Stern. You've got a Celts meantime I saw, and probably about to land GNR yeah. You're also in on a Mando LE, Fathom Mermaid, and now a Ultraman. Plenty of pinball to keep you going there. I've gone back to finishing LED kits and rubber renewals on my 90's titles to keep myself amused in lockdown.

My memory of Ultraman was that morphed up and down between normal size and when fighting monsters. I remember the crude special effects they had for it.
Quoted from Morinack:This is something i never thought I would be sharing on Pinside.
I was lucky enough to spend the summer of 81 in Tokyo.
During a side trip to Kyoto I got to go to Toei Kyoto Studio Park.
Thought I would share some of the pics i took of their miniature scenes. (and of course a kaiju)

That’s awesome.
Quoted from Pinball_Freak:Wow Ultraman CE #37. So pumped. Thanks Spooky from the land down under!
Nice. Here’s hoping all Aussie CE orders are low and shipped out together nice and early.

I know Our_Man_in_Oz it's a bit of a worry - not Celts, but Fathom ME & Mando LE on the way, and GNR just arrived but cant open it yet. Going to have a serious logjam here soon. Dont want to sell anything tho, so might just put them in storage in the warehouse - better sitting in pins than cash ATM.
Thanks Addicted. Cant wait for this one - quirky Spooky goodness all the way.

Never!
We gotta take our wins when we can get them!

Ah right I see, I mistook a post in the Fathom thread to mean you had a Celts ordered. Still bloody good effort regardless, you got me covered 4 to 1 at the moment lol. Man going to pretty epic when you do line them all up! I've got move something for Fathom, either offload or store in the shed next to RFM and HH.
Quoted from KnockerPTSD:@frankmack id like to see a poll added to see if we can get a rough idea of how the Ultraman games were split.
▪︎CE
▪︎BSE
▪︎Standard
With nothing but a guess based on thread talk im thinking
CE 50%-60% (250-300)
BSE 35%-40% (175-200)
Standard 10% (50. Ironically, the rare one)
Remember that 50 were set aside as a friends and family kind of thing. Those were (will be) likely ALL CE games.
Will do.
Quoted from Good-Times:Haven’t received any allocation email as yet here…
Yeah, looks like they are starting to roll out though.
Ultraman is an alien who essentially possessed a human from SSP, b/c he is now stuck on Earth, and chose to help protect Earth from Kaiju.

I am still curious how the build order will run with Halloween competing for floor space. Seems like whatever Spooky decides, somebody is gonna have ruffled feathers. Personally I think they should build ALL the UKRs first.

Despite the sarcasm, there will undoubtedly be folks that are unhappy with their place in line, and will have order numbers or timestamps to "prove" why they should be before this person or that person. There are already people speculating what place in line they will be based on their order number from Spooky. They will surely be disappointed.
My advice for everyone getting any game from Spooky; just let it happen. Enjoy the thread, the unboxings, the talk about rules, layout etc. Don't count the minutes or "actively" wait for when your number game is on the line. It'll happen when it happens. They've delivered 100% of their games to date.
In the meantime, go out and play it on location if can't wait. I know for some, there won't be that opportunity, but for others, there will be. Posting order numbers, and timestamps doesn't do much to celebrate the game/s or the company. So just hang tight and have reasonable expectations. Your ride will be so much more enjoyable that way. /soapbox
Quoted from Makakka:Watching the pace of this one comapred to RM this wont sell out today nor this week and probably open for non fang club members.
Another great call from you, sir
can someone explain what UKR is an abbreviation for?
I can understand HWN (halloween) and UBS (ultraman blood suckers), and UCE (ultraman collector's edition), but UKR has me baffled

Ultraman Kaiju Rumble. And HWN should be JCH John Carpenter's Hallween (exactly as it is on the game).
Quoted from RC_like_the_cola:Ultraman Kaiju Rumble. And HWN should be JCH John Carpenter's Hallween (exactly as it is on the game).
Folks will use the acronym they like no matter what. Typically the edition is not part of the acronym. Pro/Premium/LE/CE/BSE/SE all add nothing to the acronym nor should they. In the end IMHO the acronym Pinside chooses to use is the preferred one. Then you can search by the letters instead of typing the machine name.
Quoted from Lounge:UM works pretty nicely.
And HW would have worked just fine for Halloween, if it hadn't been for Hot Wheels.

Quoted from DakotaMike:And HW would have worked just fine for Halloween, if it hadn't been for Hot Wheels.
I know it's a silly thing to debate, but since we're gonna be waiting a bit for the games.
I don't think, personally that cutting a word in half and using 2 letters as the game's moniker is the best. Ultraman and Halloween are single words. Going back to forever ago when pinheads started using abbreviations or initialisms or whatever you wanna call it, we always used the first initial of each word in the title.
The Addams Family - TAF
Theater of Magic - TOM
The Simpsons Pinball Party - TSPP
Using the same formula, UKR and JCH seem like clear winners to me. Now you could say you have a JCH CE on the way or whatever. Just my opinion. I'm sure the official abbreviations will work themselves out.

...and we haven't even debated knockers yet....
Quoted from monkfe:...and we haven't even debated knockers yet....
There is no debate about knockers.
Everyone loves them.
Quoted from KnockerPTSD:As a guy who usually buys a game then slaps a shaker motor and artblades in it, the BSE was tempting enough for me to step up. The custom paint and earlier spot in line were a nice added bonus. I do really like the CE siderails but not for another $1,000 usd when I dont even like toppers.
Yeah, I hope my comment wasn't interpreted as not liking the BSE or CE. I think both are a fair value for what extras you are getting. I'm just happy that with Spooky you're not sacrificing on gameplay, which to me is always the most important. It's great that you get the full game experience at all levels, so it's just a matter of which add-on package you are getting.

And the subsequent post seriously caught my attention!
Quoted from Morinack:I hate posts like this because my neck gets stiff from craning to the side.
You must be on a desktop. I just twist my iPad!
Quoted from Frax:Personally, I think that's a pretty selfish line of thinking, but what do I know. First was first, and there's probably people that already changed BSE->CE after seeing how many CE are in front of them and sent the money. They going to go back and push those guys to the end as well? Honestly, aside from upgrading their overall website, a consistent policy posted there on how things like this are to be handled might be a good idea at this point, given the number of games they're able to sell in one day.
You will get your pin, when you get your pin. Its a family run company.
You would think that with like only 5 SEs sold they would make those first to work out any kinks before going to the CEs, right guys? Good idea right? You listening spooky?
Quoted from frankmac:Ultraman in China 3D screen.
Wow! We are living in the future
I want that on my game!
Only a matter of time before we get that jaws 3d effect from back to the future 2
Quoted from Roostking:You will get your pin, when you get your pin. Its a family run company.
You're wasting your effort. I already said in the first place that I'd get over it..and I mostly already have.
Quoted from nicoy3k:You would think that with like only 5 SEs sold they would make those first to work out any kinks before going to the CEs, right guys? Good idea right? You listening spooky?
What? No. If you want to be further back in the line then tell your distro that. There's like a year of production for just the CEs between these two games. The people that bought SE don't deserve any less of a game just because there's only a few of them. You want to be early in a run, you should know the risks associated with that, but I personally believe that Spooky will do their best to have worked out most of the kinks before that first 50 to "friends and family" go out. They already said they're taking some extra time with the first set of games. Not to mention that maybe the people that chose to buy SE's needed the time to get the money together and chose that deliberately knowing they'd be last in line...that would totally screw them over.
Plus, these aren't the kind of guys to go back on their word, and they already specified build order for the different versions. There would be a huge friggin' uproar for next to zero goodwill versus just fixing early problems as they come.
Quoted from Frax:There's like a year of production for just the CEs between these two games.
Funny, that's exactly the timeframe that I have estimated as well.
I know that I am going to be near the bottom 25% based on when my order went through, so I am just going to estimate a year for delivery of my UM CE.

As a BSE buyer, let me assure you that my heart bleeds for your predicament.
This is going to be an interesting experience. I'm not even sure if I WANT to see gameplay and rules breakdowns, or just be surprised when it eventually shows up. I'd really hate to pysch myself out on an early video, sell my spot, and then regret it later. I've never had to wait this long for a game before. Only my 4th NIB in my 10 years or whatever, but used to Stern and 2-3 months tops.

Ha!
Again, couldn't agree with you more. That is *exactly* how I feel. Definitely a big part of me that questions whether I really want to see the gameplay videos. And by the time we get ours, there are going to be a ton of them out there. And this will be the longest that I have ever waited for a pin as well. Not even close.
I have own R&M and owned TNA, but I bought R&M second hand, so zero wait, and the TNA I bought someone's spot who was in early, so that wait was only a couple of months.
The psychiatry of this is interesting. I keep watching the reveal video and it really keeps me excited, but there is a part of me that thinks I might eventually be better off almost forgetting about the game to make time go by faster.
Bottom line: as of right now, I am still very excited about getting this pin...eventually.
Spooky said (Bug i think) they are planning to build all 1750 games in 18 months. That is aggressive as it took them 18 mos to build 750 R&M. Yes i know COVID, they expanded and everything else. Just saying it sounds good to me. I have R&M #427 and it took a year to get it.
I am curious how the builds will run with HWN vs UKR. Will it be X% of floorspace for each or waves? This is a bit of a logistical puzzle for them to deal with.
Quoted from Morinack:I am curious how the builds will run with HWN vs UKR. Will it be X% of floorspace for each or waves? This is a bit of a logistical puzzle for them to deal with.
I have wondered about this as well.
It doesn't really make sense that they could build, say 3 Halloweens, followed by 1 UM, then another 4 Halloweens, then 2 UM etc just because that's how the orders came in?
But if they do it in waves, I can already imagine people on Pinside bitching that someone got their pin before they did, even though they had a lower number.
Quoted from Morinack:Even if everything is equitable, people gonna bitch.
True dat.
