Quoted from xbmanx:

They do horrible on location. Been there done that

The only time I saw one on location (1up in Denver) I must've pumped close to $20 into it... hence why I'm selling a kidney (aka my Paragon & PS1/Gamecube/Dreamcast collections) to make my purchase.

#952 2 years ago
Quoted from beltking:

I’m number 9 and they said approx two weeks when I asked the day it was launched. I’d imagine first batch will be done the end of the month or first part of October.

Oh shoot, I'm #18, I didn't realize it'd be THAT soon! Haha good thing I managed to make room already

#953 2 years ago

Ordered mine on Sept 2nd. I'm exactly half way @ #125.

#954 2 years ago

I'm kind of surprised it is not sold out yet.

Why is it that EVERY pinball manufacturer says 2 weeks?!?

Quoted from jjga:

I'm not, Spooky priced it too high for what it is. (and I love what it is)

Quoted from 27dnast:

And 2 weeks always = 6-10 months, or longer. If anyone thinking they are getting their TNA in the next few weeks you are fooling yourself.

#957 2 years ago

Spooky really knocked it out of the park with their timing on this release.

Just the Bond release (not release!) or something else as well?

#959 2 years ago

Kinda like karma for the whole Godzilla thing Stern did....

How so?

#961 2 years ago

So… today marks week 2 of the initial launch of TNA CE pre-orders.

Let’s see:

1. How long till it goes live to pubic,
2. How much longer till we are notified to start the process to pick Butter cabinet or no cabinet. Advance the purchase process.

I’m sure what Charles_Kline said about 2 weeks is really 4-6 months.

I hope he is wrong, but as usual: time will tell.

Just put my order in and I am not a member of the club. If last 3 digits of Order ID represents your machine number then I am 133.

Awesome game and can't wait to play it at home.

I finally found it in the wild earlier this year and played it for the 1st time. It put the biggest smile on my face when I played it. No other game has done that. Kudos to Scott and the crew at Spooky.

A relatively small operation that seems to be getting better with time. Yes, I too had hoped it would have come out at a lower price point but I am glad I am able to support them and what they do. Now, the real work begins. Damage control with the wife. Glad she is not on these forums or knows what these machines are selling for.

Send your reasoning my way dealing with the wife. I just bought WWLE about 3 months ago and now TNA. Told her I’m gonna sell one of my pins, but given the recent events… market could see inventory movement for the new pins.

So, debating on pulling back for a bit which means using up cash again.

Your right about grad wife not on this forum.

Good luck! I’m gonna need it as well. Haha.

You are number 161 of 250 unless there were shirt orders that threw off the numbers.

That is silly of a business decision. Why should a company have the right to block someone who wants to write a constructive criticism? Assuming you did write a reasonable statement

It is my right to listen to your comment or ignore it.

Might not be a safe assumption, this being the Internet.

Sad I can’t really get in on this release. Most games I feel are out of my reach financially I can always find around on location but TNA is harder to come by.

The only thing more pathetic than getting blocked from some boutique pinball company’s Facebook page is coming here to whine about it.

Nothing bad or flagrant. Just that I thought 9K was too much.

Looks like mine and other criticism comments have been scrubbed from all the TNA posts on their page.

Other folks have posted the same thing and their comment wasn't deleted, spooky even responding to them.

Geez I wonder if you got a history or said some other things to warrant your exclusion when clearly they aren't censoring others....

#979 2 years ago

I don't get the outrage at the price. Used TNA for sale are at $7,300 on up some over $9K (asking).

Anyone who prefers to buy a Stern premium for $9K can do that they don't need to pester Spooky about the asking price, if you don't like it don't buy it.

What's wrong with that if someone wants a brand new that is somewhat improved at $9K? That seems about right to me, but if you all don't like it don't buy it. I don't go to Ferrari or Porsche FB and complain that their cars are too expensive what do you expect to accomplish?

#980 2 years ago

May not have changed much, but might have gotten some pinsiders to consider Alien, Godzilla or Cactus Canyon before dropping $1000-2000 more on this game.
I was quite impressed with the amount of animation on TNA.

It's just a bunch of cheap asses that couldn't afford it at 7k either whining to those that have the means.

It's a freaking toy. None of it makes financial sense.

Such an idiotic entitled attitude to act like spooky is ripping you off because you can't afford their new toy. They don't owe you anything.

Sounds like you are doing God's work so pat yourself on the back one more time for me. I mean that Godzilla game is such an unknown, how did people know it even existed before your good deeds lifted it up.

#984 2 years ago

Spooky.

#985 2 years ago

I think 9k is too much and I was planning on getting in for less, but probably better that it didn't work out anyway. I'm not mad at spooky, I just feel like this may be viewed as failure and prevent another run later on because not even 250 sold quickly. I was hoping that worst case there might be opportunity down the road. But that's my problem, not spooky's.

No sense continuing to go on about it at this point. I think a lot of us have said we think it's too much but that's our opinion and for those who bought it clearly wasn't fact. Shrug.

I'm not outraged at the price but it is higher than what I figured it would be. When TNA first came out at $6K a Stern Pro was approximately $5500 delivered. Now a Stern Pro is around $6800 delivered, I would have pegged the price closer to $7500 when you factor in inflation and where the rest of the pinball market has gone in terms of pricing. TNA used to primarily compete against Stern Pros in terms of pricing and now they've elevated their pricing to Stern Premium prices. I'm primarily a Stern Pro buyer so it's tough for me to justify spending over $9K on a pin (including Stern Premiums). I'm hoping that $9K isn't the new base price for future Spooky games as it would mean that another manufacturer has priced me out.

I don't recall ever talking about TNA"s animation, but I'm sure we can all agree.. it is quite something.

Hmm, u really think so eh..K, I'll keep going with it.
I did mention 2 other fantastic options that u can buy right now..

Does anybody have any experience between tna butter cab vs regular. Ive seen a Halloween butter and its spectacular. But TnA art is pretty basic and im not sure it would be as impactful.

Thoughts?

Wrong. It has more to do with price compared to other mfgs and what is in the game. Just bought a GZ premium and a TNA would cost me more for what is much less of a game in my opinion. CGC also offering so much more for less.

Buy what you like right? Tough competing with a GZ premium and a Cactus right now. And Bond is up next Tuesday.

Looks like they are up to 133 at least, 150 or so? That’s still pretty good.

The latest offering of TNA is comparatively expensive - no doubt.

What continues to draw me to it is its uniqueness though. You can get more features, mechs, depth of code, etc for your money with a typical modern Stern Premium, but there's nothing else on the market that really offers the cool light show, music, and high adrenaline gameplay package that TNA provides.

That said, I haven't gone from admirer to buyer ... yet.

Just buy both. That's what I did. Godzilla being a great game doesn't diminish TNA being a great game. Theyre different machines you can buy both.

My original had a butter cabinet. It comes wrapped extremely well, which you are also charged for but it’s a truly impressive thing to see in person. It’s glossy and really pops. I was impatient and was told it would of added another month on my early# Rick and Morty so I declined. It was right as things opened back up in the spring of 2020. I do regret not getting it now.

I don't blame spooky for the price of TNA. The dollar has lost a lot of value over the last 2 years. Anyone buy groceries lately? Taken a look at your gas and electric bill? If you are in the market for a truck don't even bother.

#997 2 years ago

The problem is labor. Have to get the people who are somewhat smart to build games and with the amount of jobs open you have to pay a decent wage or they will just walk to another job paying more. My company was around $11-15 hr and now up about $5 an hour or they will go with at the local RV building plant making $30 but its a shit hard labor job. Fedex is at a point where there is an app and you tell fedex when you want to show up for work. They have all the power. Crazy world. Wait until Stern puts out their new prices.

Thanks for posting...the more I hear about butter, the more I think this is something I need to see in person. I don't doubt it looks amazing and I suspect the pictures I've seen don't do it justice.

It comes down to pricing power. Which companies can pass along inflation to their customers.

It’s gonna get worse before it gets better. Fed rate hikes and a deeper recession on the way.

And how much disposable income will be left over to spend on luxury items? Pick and choose? The Covid free lunch is over. Maybe people will use the student loan forgiveness to buy another pin?

Small nimble companies like Spooky shouldn’t have a problem navigating the downturn in the economy. They could easily downsize if they had to, like many other businesses.

As for the butter cab, I have it on my Halloween, it’s a beautiful game either way. Don’t think I would get it again though. In a lineup you just can’t fully appreciate it enough

#1000 2 years ago

Yeah… if the art is hidden on the cabinet due to being squished between other pinball machines… seems consensus to not get Butter. Plus the rumor price of $1,000 tag is not appealing.

I just want my TNA.
