Not too much into the nostalgia game titles.....HOWEVER.......the Scooby Doo theme is absolutely perfect for pinball. The idea of collecting clues to solve mysteries to achieve higher scores, multi-balls and whatever is a no-brainer for a great machine. Hopefully, Scrappy Doo is a no-show for this game.
I get it man..... people want the underdog. Spooky, American Pinball.... etc. Rudy, Jermey Lin, Kurt Warner, Tim Tebow.....
But honestly, IMO Stern does put out a fairly decent product with really good support. I do think that the machine being a Stern does actually stand for something. Alright, let the downvotes begin....
Heard it may not come out tonight since the guys are still trying to get the new Halloween code out tonight. Sounds chaotic.
I wonder if there are the guest stars in the pin? Harlem Globetrotters, Sonny and Cher, Tim Conway....can't remember the others..
Have many of you Spooky owners experienced a lack of quality with other Spooky machines. I am/was interested in possibly getting my first Spooky, but people have been steering me away. They say the games usually have a high rate of breaking down, not working out of the box, etc. is this true? My buddy had a Halloween and said it was the worst game he ever owned and sold it at huge loss. I know it is pinball and things will eventually break, but I at least want to get a few plays in before all holy hell breaks loose. I have/had a Rush Premium. Great game, but there is a major design flaw that fries the node 10 board. I went through three and waited awhile for Stern to address this issue. Got tired of waiting and sold it for a big loss. Ya, I could have waited but got sick of the cut and paste replies from support. Anyhow.... should I wade into the Spooky waters?

OK, perhaps we are taking the whole acronym thing a bit too far.....

Wait a minute....his parents didn't name him Meatloaf when he was born?
When are these things supposed to arrive? Would prefer to read an owner's thread rather than a hype thread.
Quoted from MikeS:I'd get the Maiden in April and play it for a while and then sell it to pickup a Scooby later once code is complete and you've had a chance to play it more.
Not bad advice. Right now, Maiden is a proven machine, an amazing machine. Scooby still needs to be shipped and more importantly evaluated by the playing public. You should have a solid month to read reviews on Scooby to form a better opinion. I think Scooby will be brilliant, but it is an unknown still. Personally, I will give Scooby a couple months on the street and then pick one up if reviews are good. I was all set to pull the trigger on a Halloween, but after personally playing and talking with a few owners, I decided against it.
Just out of curiosity what is the longest wait in recent pin history from when a game is offered to the public until it is delivered. I am used to long wait times and this one does not seem longer than other games.
