It’s going to sell out day one. Big swing and a miss with JJP TS4, Stern has struggled to get Bond out and fumbled the launch. It’s not even a FOMO thing at this point. The market is starved for something new and first glance at SD passes the sniff test. I’m probably in on a standard. Love me some Spooky and love me some wide body.

#1138 1 year ago

Spooky needs non refundable deposit because they are a small company that needs to pay their bills. $1,969,000 buys a lot of parts and labor to get the game off the ground.

#1938 1 year ago

I’m just hitting the no response from auth error over and over. Womp Womp.

#1984 1 year ago

Well…. Is the show over? Usually only wake up this early for road trips haha.

Hard not to be bummed when my first attempt at making a cc transaction was 10:02

#2074 1 year ago

I miss the days of just calling Morgan and having a nice quick polite conversation haha. I love you spooky. You’re crazy but I love you!

It’s always been strange to me that our mfg that work real hard to make our hobby exist get criticized for perhaps making good money doing it (although no one knows what anyone’s financials actually look like) in a hobby of luxury toys. The barrier for entry to this hobby is sky high. I bet you could drive a cool car if you sold some of your machine. Better yet, I bet you already do.

#2110 1 year ago

Got through. That was like buying burning man tickets! Love you spooky. Thanks for making me a wide body!

#3373 1 year ago

I got a standard so I’m end of the line or close to it and I’m 1905. So I’m gunna go out on a limb and say they are very close to sold out.

I’m quite enjoying seeing people lose money on their pinvestments. The hobby will be much better off when most of these speculators turn their attention elsewhere. Good riddance.

It’s Friday. I bet some alcohol is flowin tonight!

I like buying direct because I like as much of my money going directly to the people who actually make the product and not to a middle man who in this case literally doesn’t do anything if I get my game directly shipped from spooky which would also be my preference.

Quoted from Danzig:

Distributors provide a valuable service to both the customers and the manufacturers, and saying they do nothing is quite insulting to the majority of them.

I didn’t mean to imply that they never do anything. I have a local distributor that I like quite a lot! But in cases like this where a game is coming fresh off the line to my house a distributor does little to nothing. I was simply answering the question asked earlier of, “why do people buy direct?”

I’d rather spooky make more in cases like this.

Quoted from Danzig:

I have sold many pins and have plenty more for sale, if you want to try and post them all in this Scooby-Doo thread then please by all means go ahead and make a fool of yourself.

Forgive Ballykiss for he knows not who he speaks to.

#4532 1 year ago

I’ve seen Scooby Doo porn and I’m pretty sure they’re all into group sex. Can we move on?

#4540 1 year ago

I hated my anycubic. Can’t imagine the trouble 30 of them would be.

#4573 1 year ago
Quoted from BallyKISS1978:

I will not watch any gameplay video. Will wait till I get the pin next month. Family and I want to be surprised.

I wish more people would do this. Once you take the plunge and buy a pin just ignore everyone else and form your own opinion.

Quoted from CoolCatPinball:

Not to take this thread off topic, but I agree. We will hit market saturation at some point, it's inevitable. Not sure when, but it will happen.

No way man. WE’RE NEVER GUNNA DIEEEE!!!!

I have TNA and Rick & Morty on location at my two arcade bars. I’d imagine our machines get about as much play as any location in the country. Do spooky titles need a little more TLC than Sterns games? Yes. But honestly not by much. I have found that usually when there are crazy weird problems that seem big and scary (and probably spook users not used to pulling the glass often) the solution is a loose connection. That’s it. Sometimes frustrating to find. Really really really easy to fix. I’d put spooky on the same level as JJP which both are honestly just a little below Stern. IMHO no reason to be afraid to buy unless you’re completely unwilling to pop the hood from time to time. If that’s the case I don’t know how you’re still in this hobby. Love Spooky! They clearly care. Can’t wait for my Scooby!

#4978 1 year ago

Correct. Pinball machines are assets not investments. Assets depreciate and you can expect to make SOME of your money back on resale not all and certainly not profit. The quicker people can accept that the happier they’ll be.

#5245 1 year ago

I do my best pinsiding when I’m drunk. Glad to see some hype back in this thread! Haven’t watch the video yet but sounds like spooky knocked it out of the park. Cheers spooky fam. Can’t wait. I mean. I guess I can. Because I’ll have to. Haha.

#5253 1 year ago

Okaokay okay…. Spooky I love you, and obviously that video was just one game and I promise that I’m not trying to rain on parades buuuuut my one criticism is that I didn’t really see a reason for anyone to want to shoot the two tier 3 bank drop targets which is a feature that I was looking forward to. Some good risk reward opportunities there IMO. It’s Friday. I’m drunk. I could be wrong but that part of the playfield needs more love. Xoxo gossip girl.

P.s. this message brought to you by plantation O.F.T.D.

#5255 1 year ago
Quoted from Vernisious:

You hit them to keep your bravery up, ie adds time for modes.

But seems pretty accidental/unimportant. Would love to see some hurry up or jackpots placed on the shot through the two three banks.

If I lost 1k on resale my buying wouldn’t change at all. It’s the people that want to recoup all of their cost that are cautioned against buying pins NIB.
