The man behind the mask, on the Jason movie soundtrack will it make it

That's what I want to know.

Quoted from SpookyCharlie:

Lol... running joke from Dead Flip. We had to cost out 2 of them.

Well, shoot.....and here I was hoping for a Pinball Circus-like Haunted Castle!

Quoted from jwilson:

Looks pretty complicated to me - game rules on a microcontroller, graphics on a third-party Linux PC running separate software...

None of which is your concern, since you don't work for Spooky.

Quoted from jwilson:

Well, actually *quite* different than Stern - SAM ran for over a decade unchanged and totally backwards compatible. Spike was a failure, hence Spike 2, and look at all the compatibility issues they're having.

Um, no, SPIKE 2 wasn't made because SPIKE 1 was a failure. It was a more advanced system, needed to drive the LCD display.

#1171 1 year ago
Quoted from HighVoltage:

Drifting off topic, but, um, Spike 1 was already -intended- to drive LCD displays. But it failed to meet Stern's own requirements so they had to do a take two with Spike 2.

One would think, but they created the boards, so they would have known their own requirements.

SPIKE 1 wasn't a failure, it was just a stop gap.

#1174 1 year ago
Quoted from HighVoltage:

Yes, they did know the requirements, but you obviously don't. You've lost credibility claiming something that is known to be the opposite. Here's a quote from Stern's press release on the original Spike.

Technically, it did drive an LCD display, on WWE LE. So you've lost credibility.

Now zip it! This is an Alice Cooper forum.

Just checked...he's performing in Indy at the end of March. I've always wanted to see him, and I think it's time!

I sure hope we dont have to wait till 4pm on Sat to see and play the game!!!
Show is largely done by then.

You will, and the show's just getting cooking. Saturday night is a blast!

From Spooky’s Twitter feed. Alice Cooper reveal. Looks like a red shooter knob or a big red button.

Quoted from Whysnow:

Who is coding ACNC?

Ben Heck worked on it quite a bit before he left Spooky.

#1312 1 year ago
Quoted from benheck:

Incorrect. David van Es and I came up with a ruleset, castle map, boss battles etc.
But the code itself is being implemented by David Fawcett.

Apologies, semantics. I should have used the words ruleset and design.

I'm guessing Spooky also meant it's not going to be on the floor anywhere until after their 4:00 Saturday seminar\reveal.

Was at TPF and got to play this several times. It is really does look and play great! The art on the display screen when you wander the castle is damn near perfect. The shots were also very satisfying.

I'm was happy to hear Charlie announce that they were using P-ROC, and that all the lights would now be RGB. The demo unites still had colored inserts, and when I asked a guy from Spooky if the production games would be clear inserts he said no. That was the only odd thing, as you can't get the full spectrum of colors when you've got colored plastic getting in the way.

Other than that, a big congrats to Spooky! What an amazing game!

#1909 1 year ago

Charlie, is it true you're not changing the inserts to clear, even though the game will now have RGB lights?

Alice's comment range from OK to borderline awkward (you'll never come out of here....alive) but I'm hoping there is enough variety to get by.

Alice's call outs are fine.
