Quoted from Pinstein:

I think its unflattering videos like the one above that's makes people want to sell their preorder. I cant hear the music or callouts and there are so many bricked shots.

I'm trying to find some video, and I agree with that assessment. I guess my question is why doesn't Spooky produce some videos themselves, to demonstrate personally, rather than a video like the one above that light be off-putting? I'd love to see more quality footage!

#4352 5 years ago
Quoted from Cheeks:

Agreed, but these are actual players, and almost all the videos that come out look like this. So, the problem is if a potential buyer's friends and family also have noob-like skills, you're seeing what will likely happen with the game in their home. Not everyone is buying a game for a single highly skilled player or a group of rabid pinheads. If every video shows casual people bricking shots, you better believe you're going to be watching a ton of casual players brick shots in your basement as well.
None of this says anything good or bad about the game for serious / skilled players, but I think we're seeing what this game will be like for everyone else.

The lion share of the market is home buyers. Non pinheads aren’t spending 7 grand on nib pinball machines. The only people that play pinball at my house are my wife and I and one friend who likes pinball. We will all play it. I play like shit on every new game I play. How’s this different? You want a game so easy a noob can blow it up? Not for my small collection.

I have a question for owners and/or Spooky. Watching the more recent videos (like the Gogi one) the magnet save didn't seem to work and fling the ball. Has this been fixed? Also, any hints on the direction the code is moving toward?

Magnet save works really well - pretty much the only time it doesn’t work is if I drain 2 balls and it catches them both (it doesn’t have the power to fling both).

There’s also a short ball save when it’s activated for the 5% of the time it slings it into the bottom of your flipper or directly up and stdm.

Can you post any video of game play? Have you gotten accustomed to the tight shot layout?

Totally agree. These aren’t cheap toys. If you can afford these games, you’ll want to play them until you’re good at them (or decided you don’t like it and sell it). If noobs can blow the game up easily...then it’ll get boring quick to the owner. Watching a video of the casual player brick shots just means it’s a challenge IMHO. When i do have casual players at my house (which is rare). They could really care less. Put a couple games on the machine monkey flipping the whole time. The more I explain the game, the quicker they leave for their next drink.

Quoted from Jodester:

I don’t have a way to video a game - maybe I can get my son to video a bit, but I’m on the road this weekend.

Yes - the first few games were certainly brick sessions, but it doesn’t take long to learn the shots.

Personally I couldn't give a rats ass about what anyone else thinks about it. I hope that it sells well for Spooky and that less people decide to sell off but that is completely beyond my control. I'm just waiting out word at this point so that can spend as little time as possible in this thread.

and I would rather see a beginner get an Iron Man than this brick fest. At least even missed shots with IM are somewhat rewarding, this on the other looks terrible, in video after video.

#4361 5 years ago

Since there’s only 500 being made...I suspect most of the plays will come from pinheads...those that want to learn how to play the game, instead of monkey flippers. That said. Monkey flippers care more about ball time than shots. They want their money’s worth. And I’m not slamming monkey flippers or those that want long ball times...each to their own. It’s all good. Just an observation.

Ya, unlike you, I actually played it and liked it. You just watch noobs playing videos and make judgement. Very noob of you.

#4365 5 years ago

I must admit...unless you’ve played it (multiple times)...bashing it is not gonna hold weight.

Why anyone would waste the energy going into a thread to negatively comment on something they’re not remotely interested in buying blows my mind.

What a complete waste of life.

Life is finite. Do something positive with it.

#4374 5 years ago

Boy my Alice Cooper pictures were better than this pointless bitching!

#4375 5 years ago

Weird hobby where you have to race to put a deposit on a game you’ve never played to get an early spot. Then wait up to a year to get it. Meanwhile new machines are announced. That already are shipping. And if you want out you have to sell your deposit for a loss.

I love my TNA. But damn, I don’t think I can do this again.

Because they have nothing else to do, and certainly a bit of jealousy

So let’s look at a video of another game and move out this thread.

So You advise us to not do what you did once, correct?
You know that in the rest of the world there is almost no chance to play this one unless buying it blindly?

#4379 5 years ago
Quoted from colonel_caverne:

What is a monkey flipper?

Someone who always flips both flippers instead of just the necessary one... with extra monkey points going to those who flip both flippers even when the ball is nowhere near the flippers...

I believe the origin is basically this:

Is this a butter cab? The pic of the right side of the head looks mighty buttery. Awesome collection as well!

#4387 5 years ago

Butter and #9. Loaded including shaker and knocker. Adding mirror blades. Was not sure on the mirror blades or art blades. Game is really fun. Modes are real cool. I’ll add video today! Shots are tight but you can make them with some practice. You don’t just shoot center shots!!

We are excited to get our games. I think it looks great and as code matures, this will be a great addition to our collections. I am disappointed that spooky does not use a validator coin door but that is of no huge consequence.

I think we are in the 50s so may still be a bit. Good luck all!

Quoted from Tilt:

it was my machine at expo, and I still havent set it back up since coming home. If anyone wants to come to central Illinois and help me set it up, you can give all the tries you want.

I put about $10 into it at expo , thank you for bringing your game. And thank you for donating the money it brought in to help people.

im pretty sure the answer is no. I know that as of a few weeks ago that the knocker is not supported yet. so I doubt that a simulated is either

It is where instead of Decals on cabinet. The art is direct printed on and then clearcoated and buffed to a shine.

A little bird told me the first real "butter" run will be in a week or two.

It could be connected to the cheeky little monkey flipping skirts on the Oktoberfest pin.

Battled a few monsters tonight. The latest update to Frankenstein Monster MB is really cool. He moves with each hit and there’s more lighting effects.

Oh neat!! I really like their font usage in this game! The artwork I dig, but in places wish there were some changes. Looks pretty cool overall, and there's one about an hour away from me to play. Which I really should go and do!

How are you enjoying it so far? What see strengths/weaknesses in your mind?

I would love to see some video of your machine tonight
