The art teaser pics were strong, but that skull is awesome. I hope its eyes light up.

I'm not a big Alice Cooper fan, but I am pretty interested to see the pin and gameplay.

#1002 6 years ago

Skull is very cool. So what else is in that pic. I see a wall to the castle ? Is that a low profile ramp next to the skull ? Or is it just a piece of plastic lying there ? Who knows.

Looking forward to the reveal.

I was in Benton, Wisc. yesterday. If you like Haunted Castles and Zombie Monsters? Start saving your nickles and dimes now for ACHC.

Already trying to figure out what game(s) will go to make space/funds. A "Killer," monster of a theme

More tease, can’t wait to see this machine:

Upper (lower?) playfield confirmed

#1007 6 years ago

And this seems to be a view from the other side of the skull... (i.e. through the mouth) ?!?

Quoted from tiesmasc:

Looks like a similar opening to the mouth, but the playfield looks almost right next to it and can't be seen in the previous pic? Anyways I like these teaser pics so we can rack our brains.

In one skull and maybe out the first one pictured?

#1010 6 years ago

Here they are together:

#1011 6 years ago

what if it is part of the upside down world?

#1012 6 years ago

With the side by side, it appears different than the skull. Perhaps a castle archway?

#1013 6 years ago

I think its the right side of the castle (and the right side of the area that the skull is part of that they posted before).

although...are those service rails? below it? maybe it IS a lower playfield....hmmmmmm

#1014 6 years ago

good job Charlie... i am all confused.... you can clearly see the end of the playfield (as you can see the side of the plywood). so this would make me think anywhere around the edge... but then the writing 'build' is not facing upside down... so that would make me think looking at it the bottom side of a playfield....

ohhhhhh my brain is starting to hurt! it has to be a second playfield.

#1015 6 years ago
Quoted from snakesnsparklers:

Upper (lower?) playfield confirmed

Possibly. Ben showed off a small lower playfield with one flipper about 6 months ago that was on a white wood.

#1016 6 years ago

Maybe Ben's colonoscopy will Xmas lighting? That still doesn't explain mini-me.

#1017 6 years ago

With the word build. I would think it has to do with the Frankenstien monster. So now where is it on the playfield?

Who is doing code for this game?

I'm pretty sure its Fawzma, though Ben may be helping with it as well.

#1020 6 years ago

This should be their best game to date I hope

#1021 6 years ago

I did not have much interest in this game but after seeing the teaser pictures I am getting really excited to see the entire game.

#1023 6 years ago
Quoted from Medisinyl:

There are many bands I love that would make for terrible pins as there wouldn't be much well known toy theme and such to go for. I'd be highly interested in bands known for horror theatrics. Alice Cooper, Rob Zombie, etc.

That post was from over 2 years ago, before Rob Zombie was ever announced. I re-posted after Rob Zombie was announced, but the fact Spooky went back-to-back on my top music artist themed pins is just amazing to me And by the look of the teasers, Alice Cooper may go beyond my expectations

I think they are going all in on this one! For the time being let’s keep your focus on creating more badass RZ mods lol!

Ha! Thanks I do have a customer requested mod in the works for RZ that I expect to release by the end of this month (and I have ideas for others, but may do another game before getting to those).

Charlie told me it would be unveiled at TPF, in March.

I’m super excited for this game. Can’t wait to see the whole thing!!

#1031 6 years ago

I’m really excited to see it too. I am a bit wary of buying one though as I’m gonna take a bath on rz when I resell.

Hey all, I "blew out" the photos on This Week in Pinball (http://thisweekinpinball.com/twip-two-themes-secrets-spookys-teasers-custom-twilight-zone/) and you can see a bit more:

RIP Heck, haha. Looks like a wireform?

A spiderweb, an insert (?) that appears to be an X (?), and the word “BUILD”. Perhaps a multiplier?

Not much new with this one...

I also transcribed an interesting exchange between Charlie, Bug, and David van Es (animator) on their latest podcast:

Charlie: “So why are you here, what are we doing here this week?”

DVE: “This week I’m going to try to survive the cold…and we’re going to start working, polishing up Alice Cooper, right?

Charlie: “Get all those video assets…”

DVE: “Yeah exactly…we’re going to make that screen do what it needs to do, and tell the story it needs to tell of the adventure through the castle.”

Bug: “It’s gonna be pretty.”

Charlie: “It is. And I’ve seen all the toys which I think will be here tomorrow (Tuesday the 2nd), and it looks pretty fantastic. I don’t want to give too much away.”

DVE: “Did I give too much away by saying castle?”

…discussing the castle

Bug: “Like Dracula but cooler.”

Charlie: “Exactly. There is a castle, this isn’t like Haunted House where you use your imagination and you’re in the attic, you’re in the basement, there is a castle with turrets and shots and things and stuff…”

DVE: “So we’ll be working with the display, and honestly this is going to be the first time we going to see everything together, right? … We’re heading towards TPF…”

Charlie: “Absolutely, yeah. The HD system has been bouncing all over the country essentially. It’s been in the hands of three different people now, and it’s in Benton for the first time.”

DVE: “Have we said it was going to be an HD system?”

Charlie: “Yes…I threw all the pressure square on everybody.” (laughs)

DVE: “We are taking the next step…lots of pressure, but I’m excited about it. It’s gonna be the style…it’s definitely going to be spooky.”

Charlie: “To say the least…tons of Alice Cooper music in it…”

Bug: “Yeah…it is not a greatest hits collection, I’m still trying to get that across.”

DVE: “I love Alice Cooper but that incidental music is just amazing. It’s the perfect fit for your adventure through the castle of Alice Cooper. And don’t trust him. That’s all I’m gonna say, don’t trust Alice!”

There are numerous tombstones in the artwork. Interesting names on all of them.

It's what you get to do when you design your own game and artwork. Charlie had some fun. They won't mean much to most people.

#1037 6 years ago

What? This is new... Last we hear the next rev of the pinheck system was maxing at 128x64. Could they have added an additional video board?

Or "HD" could be referring to twice as many dots as before... will be interesting to see that's for sure!

Quoted from luvthatapex2:

Surely it'd be 192x64?

128x64 would be a pretty thick aspect ratio - 2. Standard DMD is 4. 192x64 is 3.

If they have 192x64 LED DMD, I'd be pretty happy with that if the dots were good. The industry should have moved over once SEGA (Stern) pioneered the 192x64 displays 2 decades ago. You can pack so much more detail and information than 128x32. Three times as many pixels. For dots, I'd consider that "HD".

Given that pinballsp has recently cut his 192x64 RGB LED DMD from €399 to €265, apparently due to huge supplier price cuts, it might be a pretty economical option.

Stern's budget Spiderman - the only machine so far with an RGB LED DMD from the factory - looks pretty good.

#1040 6 years ago

HD is 1,280×720 and up.

#1041 6 years ago

Maybe it's HD audio...
