Anybody having any reset issues?
Quoted from Trekie:Anybody having any reset issues?
No , I have never had any resets . I would think you have a loose connector somewhere to cause resets . Contact Spooky , they will help figure out issue.
Quoted from netman63129:I just joined the club but wait...Isn't this actually Spooky's 4th game? AMH, RZ, TNA, and now ACNC?
More than that....Jetsons and Dominoes too.

TNA is technically designed and coded by Scott, and Spooky has built and sold them. Similar to Dominos and Jetsons.
Quoted from SpookyCharlie:You have no idea how happy we are when we hear stuff like this!!! Thank you for allowing it to be used at a fantastic show!
There's a hard ball trap (can't shake it loose) on the left side above and next to the spinner. Changing the hex spacer heights so the layered plastics angle down more sharply and/or putting an angled plastic "flag" there would help prevent it. It's the only problem I noted when playing.
Really impressed with the game.

Doesn't really match the comic-book look of literally every other element of the game.

Yeah that alternate logo is dipping into Experts of Dangerous terrority.

At least you can sort of READ this whole logo. On EoD the "Experts" part was basically illegible. But yeah, doesn't match ACNC style at all.

Maybe I'm thinking of the cabinet sides. It's been a while...
But even though that's more legible, it's still pretty bad.

No, you're probably thinking of this one

Going a little less hand drawn and a little more Photoshop layer effect? I mean, it’s your game ...

Curious - now that you have dug in - thoughts on the game?

I’m not a big pin review guy ... what I like, you may not, etc etc ... but what the hell....
I like it.
Game is tough. I think too tough for some. But that’s what I like. I want a game to be a challenge. Like RZ .. getting to the end of that game is a real exercise in ball control and skill, both things I need to work hard to achieve lol .. so when you get there, you have a real level of achievement.
I think Bowen/Fawz have done a good job of making modes accessible to beginner/average players. I had communicated my concerns to Bowen that the game (as I played it last year) was too hard for the average player, and I feared most wouldn’t be able to even start a mode. I pushed that a mode be active at the start of each ball like on most Sterns.
They addressed this by making it easier to access the “secret passage” shortcut to start a mode. That is still an intermediate skill level thing imo ... but seeing as most ACNC will be in houses, that works ok I guess.
The video graphics are great, as everyone knows.
The songs all seem to suit each mode. I’m not an Alice guy (I saw him once in concert, he puts on a great show..) but like every good music pin, you end up singing along to the tunes.
I only put about a dozen games on it before I left, got 6 monsters in on one game. It’s quite a long player when you get your shots dialed in. I think you’ll either have 2 minute games or 30 minute games depending on how you’re playing lolll

Speaking of average players - this is the latest in our effort - and we love the game too! I subsequently dialed up the upper flipper to 15 and that ramp shot to start Frankenstein is much easier.

I made 2x adjustments.
I also pumped up the top flipper one or two numbers ... and I dialed back the scoop one or two numbers. It was firing out of there like a rocket.

Well today was great. Acnc tournament for the Nebraska League's in Lincoln, and Omaha. Alice Cooper Nightmare Castle #18 got a great showing and event. The Backdrop hid the hallway to the game. When it was time for someone to play. They had to walk thru Frank and Alice to get to the game. After they played they got a photo op with both. Notice Alice's shirt.. Hehe. Then don't forget the cookie! Magicchiz

Officially joined the club today. I have been hesitant about buying my 3rd Spooky game, and my initial reveal impressions early on were sub par. But wow has the game progreased, and mea culpa to Spooky and company...I see ACNC easily becoming my favorite of the 3.
A couple of questions. The RGB backbox strip is not working in game or test mode. I checked connectors and all appeared ok. It appears its driven by a driver transistor? Is there maybe a separate fuse to check before I start testing transistors?
What's the ball supposed to do on the return ramp from the upper pf down to the lower right flipper? The ball juat sits there and never comes out. Have to remove the glass.

Congratulations on picking up the machine.
It's addictive as hell and really grows on you quickly.
Anyhow, Charlie made a video on how to adjust the guillotine.
Mine was a tad off at first, but once i dialed it in it works like a champ.

Get in touch with me and we will get it sorted. Guessing your game got an update right before it shipped.

Thanks Luke....aent you an email.
Just to close the loop, the servo and rgb light were similar issues. Both connectors were off by a pin. 2 of the 3 on the servo, and 3 of the 4 on the rgb strip. Can only surmise that somehow got displaced during ship prep.
Just put my deposit on my first spooky for Alice. Game should be ready by Dec 10.
Really like the unique coding and shots in the game. I think the difficulty will be good for me and have a good punishment/enjoyment feel.
Woot I cant wait, will go nice with my MBr LE.
Can't wait to see the Spooky topper for Alice and more code polish from Bowen.
Can you just update code with a Zip drive? I downloaded the code to a drive and didn’t know what to do from there.
Also, anyone with a ACNC, does your Monster figure seem a little loose on its mount or should it be stiff and have no side to side play on it? Mine has a little back and forth movement and I’ve been trying to deal with the balls not locking properly for Monster multiball. Just trying to get it dialed in.

Monster has a fair bit of play to it, but mine has never had an issue since adjusting the servo (ball used to fall into the cabinet when I first got the game [easy fix]). I've talked to others that mentioned such movement for the monster, so that seems normal.
USB drive works for the updates (not sure if you really meant Zip drive--haven't heard of anyone using those for quite awhile ). If it doesn't, format the drive and try again, or try a new USB stick (not all of them work and I'm unsure why).
What do you do to adjust the servo? Mine drops into the cabinet sometimes too.
Yeah I meant a USB drive. Do you just put it in ta USB slot in the backbox and turn the game on or something? Thank you for the reply btw.
Checkout Spooky’s YouTube channel. They post loads of useful tips like updating software, dialing in Frank lock and the guillotine.
I have a limited number of Alice Cooper's Nightmare Castle Pinball "Castle Wall" Mods and "Alice Face" Magnet Protector Mods available.
The "Castle Wall" mod covers up that ugly castle wall that doesn't quite look right with a high quality vinyl decal(with cut outs) that replicates the brick pattern of the molded castle pieces on your machine.
The Alice Face Magnet protector is cut perfectly and matches the color scheme of the playfield.
The Castle Wall Mod is $35 Shipped
The Alice FaceMagnet Protector is $13 Shipped.
If interested, I can do a combo deal for both mods(Castle Wall & Alice Face) for $44 shipped.
If you are interested, PM me.

i just received my game. I like the artwork, colors, sounds, music!!! But i find the game play realy hard and difficult. Most shots end on the posts or other rubbers resulting in 1 or 2 modes max played per game (5 balls)
Does anybody has some tips to adjust the gameplay? so shots can be made easier.

It's a tough game. At the start, utilize the secret passage and start Frank mode (easier to hit). When you start 3rd mode extra ball is lit. Also, change replay award to extra ball. But mostly, just keep playing. You'll find the shots. I would have thrown in the towel myself, but I love the unique gameplay. No other game like it. Ive owned it for almost a year now. Played it last night for an hour. Best was 4 monsters. But damned if I didn't giggle, sing, and shout every minute of it. Love it!

This is a tough game. I suck and it reminds me of that every time I play. For a while I set the difficulty to "easy action" which reduces the number of rooms needed to reach the monster and helped reduce the frustration level (but nothing actually gets easier, just less time and accurate orbit shots needed).

That was my first impession of the game play to, i got a bit of a déjà vu with the Ghostbusters game I peviously owned.
Tough is good in home environment imo. Makes you wanna hit the start button over and over. I always start the evening on acnc so when I move to something else in the collection I rack up grand champion. Works everytime.
ACNC is definitely a shooter's game. You must be accurate with your shots. I can usually get 4 or 5 modes (3 ball), completing maybe half those. Once you get your shots dialed in, it really is a great game. Also learn slide saves and nudging.
On that note, does anyone experience SDTM if you inadvertently shoot the Frank ramp from the upper playfield (when frank isn't locking)? Usually once a game, i'll lose a ball like this. It's frustrating, and so fast down the ramp, I usually can't save it.
