I hope they make another cartoon theme.
I heard scooby doo with an under play field.

I hope so!

Quoted from alexanr1:

It’s too bad they don’t do a 2021 modern version of Gottlieb's Haunted House. Pay tribute to the three level but make it modern. Might be to complicated for spooky to do though, they seem to keep to simple playfields vs a JJP.

Scooby Doo and the Haunted Mansion could be amazing!
BTW anyone who enjoyed the show should check out the encyclopedia.

Quoted from Calfdemon:

I think part of the plot (from what I read) in Thankskilling 3 is they are trying to get the last copies of Thankskilling 2 back.
Anyway, another classic movie that is actually worth watching is Rubber. Trust me, don't give up and keep watching. It keeps getting better and after watching it, you will think "what the hell did I just watch" and then watch it again. It gets better each time you watch it because you understand more and its hilarious!
[quoted image]
No matter how bad you want to turn it off in the first 15 minutes, don't... You will be (should be) happy you stuck it out!

I like to think I’m fairly knowledgeable as far as horror movies go and subscribe to Rue Morgue and Horror Hound.
I just looked up the movie Rubber as I never heard of it. Very interesting and can’t wait to see it.

Quoted from mpdpvdpin:

Ya’ll are joking but I would 100% buy a pin based on spooky breakfast cereals. It’s probably the most “up my alley” idea I’ve heard in awhile.

I got this T shirt last year. I remember mailing in UPC codes cut off the cereal boxes as a child to get the puffy stickers and trick or treat bag. It definitely has potential for a great pin theme.

Quoted from ToucanF16:

Yeah, put your trust in Kaneda! LMAO!

You can put your trust in that he’s probably going to try to preorder multiple machines to flip at a premium. I nominate him for “douche bag of the year”. Pinside should award a virtual trophy for that each year.

Quoted from javagrind888:

No video of gameplay plus having to get the CE for the pumpkin speaker grill means I'll wait and flip it first (which means second hand probably). Oh well, I'm a Blood Sucker member now anyway.

I agree. It’s pretty smart from a sales point of view if they don’t show video. I think this will sell out very quickly tomorrow. Unfortunately there will be flippers/scalpers with sales/trade adds posted immediately.
I think they(flippers)are not going to do as well as they expect if the general Pinside reaction is mixed in a couple weeks and that is almost guaranteed!
Regardless of how it’s received it great to see cool monster pins being released!

Here’s a pic of my Halloween costume 2020.
I scared the hell out of my neighbors!

Quoted from Skyemont:

The real question is who will have the first CE spot for sale?

Whoever it is, will it be medical bills or wife says NO! Children will have nightmares?
Either way it’s BS and they are scalpers!

Quoted from TreyBo69:

And when a home buyer is at a dealers show room or looking at their webpage, they are naturally going to gravitate towards licensed themes that they already have some attachment to. Just like a random bar goer might notice a theme they like and try out pinball (vs pinheads that will play whatever)
Licensed themes do most of the heavy lifting when it comes to attracting a purchase/coin-drop
Ultraman is almost an original theme considering how relatively unknown it is in America. But it has the benefit of lots of cheap video assets and a campy kaiju vibe that most people can quickly pick up on. It's not some Retro Atomic Zombie Adventureland where you're collecting xenon gas while fighting aliens and dracula on carnival rides and whatever else is on that purple neon pupu platter of nonsense.

Ultraman relatively unknown in America?
Im 50 and my girlfriend freaked when the Halloween/Ultraman machines were announced. She asked if we could get one of each! We watched Ultraman and Godzilla growing up in the 70’s and 80’s.
Did you have cable tv growing up?
Maybe it’s an age/location thing.

I would love if Spookys next game would be another John Carpenter classic, ie "Escape from New York". Imo Carpenters best movie ever.

I just said that to my girlfriend last week. Huge potential for an amazing game!

If Spooky can someday make a Friday the 13th and Nightmare on Elm St, I am 100% in on CEs for both to line up with my Halloween! Would LOVE to see that set!

Those would both be great!
I’d also love to see Spooky make any of John Carpenters films into pins. Hopefully the relationship will continue in the future after Halloween is released.

Quoted from Zablon:

I think we've found that after Evil Dead is made, Scooby should be next.

Maybe Scooby will be the other model released when Evil dead is announced. One Adult title and one family friendly. I can see the layout working for both titles. As a buyer that would be a tough choice for me to make.

Just one thing is important Spooky Pinball, don’t include Scrappy Doo. He is easily the most annoying character added to a great show/cartoon.

#10889 1 year ago
Quoted from addams40:

Do you think the next Spooky pin will sell out the first day sight unseen after Ultraman & Halloween? Think people will want to see it first this time around.

One thing is certain in pinball the fear of missing out/ long waits/ scalper markup is always present. I’d love to see a full reveal before sales begin but doubt it will happen.

Also remember that spots were available through distributors for a few days / up to a week after sales opened. People were/are selling spots for cost of deposit or under on the current release. As soon as another title is announced by Stern or another company, people who were never “all in” will jump ship.

Hopefully what happened with Halloween/Ultraman and now Toy Story will be the first of several more kicks to the balls of scalpers who think preorder of every title from every MFG is a guaranteed $1000-$2500 markup.

I own Halloween, RZ and AMH. All are great games. Sure they are unique compared to what Stern releases but that’s why I like them.

They’re not doing Killer Klowns, I’d bet money on it. Not sure that it has enough fans to warrant 1200 $10k pinball machines really. But Evil Dead 2, Army of Darkness, Scooby Doo, F13, NOES, Return of the loving dead, They Live…all big highly regarded licenses

I’ll take one of each from your list!

unfortunately Phantasm will never be made.
I do like the original but not a big fan of the other films in the series.

I’m think Evil Dead and Scooby Doo are two of the most likely candidates. Both those titles would be very easy to sell.

Now that there is a relationship with John Carpenter I would hope that one of his other films would be possibilities for future release.

I saw him play in concert a few years ago when he toured ,Amazing concert!

What's Spooky's rep as far as tech support and whatnot. If they do come out with an Evil Dead or The Thing ill be hard pressed not to get one, so I just want to know what you guys think and or experiences with these guys.

I had a few shipping issues with my RZ pin. Spooky Charlie called me direct from his personal cell phone to help with the issue. I own AMH,RZ and Halloween. We love all of them. Totally different than Stern and JJP but that’s what makes them great.

I can usually keep FOMO under control. But those 2 titles might break my will. Thanks for the response. I've seen them on some you tube videos they seem really friendly.

Quoted from Tyler_Durden:

I did not, I specified that is a risk for any company, you should re-read it if it interests you so much.
I have no knowledge of their finances, I only heard here they are taking cash and not returning it to customers in some instances when the customer declines said purchase, but I guess this is a policy of this company and all as you say. You can read those customers comments yourself.
FYI, Tesla will hold your deposit for 3-5 years and release the entire amount if you decline purchase. Not all companies have to or need to keep such high deposits.

I love Non refundable deposits. It weeds out some of the scalper scum who have no interest in a title other than profit. At the very least it makes it a gamble for them. F the scalpers!

If you are uncertain about a machine wait until it’s available to play in person and purchase in person from a distributor if/when they have inventory in their warehouse. There is no risk at all.

#11330 1 year ago
Quoted from jimwe5t:

$9k newer TNA 2.0 version absolutely devalues current TNA 1.0 machines. No one will want the old version any longer and now that people know that Spooky will make unlimited numbers of TNA, the used old version HUO TNA price is going to plummet. Spooky’s own words, they will make many more as needed. There is no FOMO, as you may wait for years and still they will make more. Saying 250 for this run is an absolute joke. The ol let’s take care of the family business lovefest is gone. Spooky is now as greedy as any other boutique company and even greedier, they just cut out the important distributors that helped them get where they’re at. Smart buyers will just wait a year and there will be a glut of bored TNA owners selling at a big loss, just like is happening on HWN/UM now.

This is a completely false narrative created by Spooky apologists, continually pumping us all full of BS, that it was only the scalpers that are suffering. I call BS, as all of us that bought into the HWN/UM FOMO are suffering from a very subpar code and poor shooting, machine. Values have tanked…

“ all of us who bought into the FOMO are suffering”
Absolutely hilarious!

I love my Halloween, RZ and AMH machines!

Lots of crybabies here who need to not preorder machines and purchase used or from inventory at the Distro warehouse.

#11335 1 year ago
Quoted from jimwe5t:

Of course you’ll claim this, as you don’t want your value of HWN to plummet further. It’s not hilarious at all that all HWN/UM owners have lost out of the gate $3k or more. Highly doubtful any buyers can ever be found at even a $3k to $4k loss on HWN/UM. Yes, that’s suffering!

You conveniently ignored the “ all of us who bought into the FOMO are suffering”. Also the statement “don’t preorder until you’ve played the game and/or can pay cash and drive away with it from a Distros warehouse.”

If you preorder anything it’s a gamble. Wait until the code is complete or take your loss and move on. Stern code takes months or years to get polished/ finished.

I’m a long term collector (almost 30 years now). I could care less what resale value is. I’m not a flipper or flavor of the month collector.
If I’m not sure I’ll like a game I don’t buy it until I play it.

If someone is concerned about future value wait and buy used.

Gambling and losing sucks. Next time don’t gamble. Life is full of lessons. Hopefully you learned from what you feel is a mistake.

2) people are selling deposit spots for less than original cost.

I predict Scooby Doo will blow up Spooky’s website just like HW did. Then the FOMO/flavor of the month crowd will start to complain about the early code, wait times, etc. spots will begin to change hands. It will be championed as the greatest game ever by some and the worst by others.

I'd like to know as well. I have hoped for many years for a Scooby-Doo pin, but I don't think there has been any evidence whatsoever that it's happening. Seems like just a lot of wishful thinking thus far.

There is no real evidence. Bug wears a Scooby t shirt on occasion. Scooby-Doo and Ash vs Evil Dead are two very logical guesses due to the fact that they are very popular with huge fan bases. Both would probably sell out immediately after being announced. Hopefully both are eventually made.

#11775 1 year ago
Quoted from Zablon:

This is my problem. Sure...I liked scooby when I was younger, and yes, I still like the idea of it, but I don't actively watch it. I mostly watch the crossover stuff to see how they handle it - but those are adult themed shows. Scooby IS a kids show, and yes young kids still watch it.
I don't see myself wanting to drop 10k+ on Scooby as a theme as an adult. I want stuff with more edge. I would buy an R&M over again before I'd buy Scooby.

Don’t worry!
If Scooby is up next, I would guess a Ash Vs Evil Dead or similar R rated Adult horror movie (Phantasm?)title would follow after.

For the record I’d buy any/ all of those in a heartbeat.

Quoted from Zablon:

Okay, now that Scooby has been announced time to predict the next game.
EVIL DEAD!

I agree but it will probably be Ash Vs Evil Dead. Lots of potential and more of a adult content/ Rated R Horror title after Scooby. Bruce Campbell callouts will be great!

Quoted from Dee-Bow:So outta touch.. when was tbe last time someone with $10k watched Aladdin, He-man or the lion king? I'd rather walk up to a music pin of a band i don't like before a pin aimed at 6 year old kids. If scooby doesn't have a lot of funny stoner references in an adult mode then the callouts are going to get lame very fast. IMO

Call outs will never get old on this machine. I think that I read there are 4000 custom callouts.

Haha I wish. Yeah all the modes are in place but there's still a lot of work left to do!
One of these decades I'll make Bible Adventures. And I'll do it right not whatever the hell Robert would have shat out

Is there any chance there will be an adult setting with a few Monty Python Life of Brian quotes/ callouts added? It’s one of the funniest movies ever.
“ Jesus C. Stop picking you nose! “
“ you’ve got a nose like a cod!”
“ e’s not the Messiah, e’s a very naughty boy! Now piss off!”

Quoted from mpdpvdpin:

Here’s my short list for banger Spooky pins:
Army of Darkness
ADVENTURE TIME
Fururama
Return of the living dead
THEY LIVE
The Thing
THE SIMPSONS TREEHOUSE OF HORROR
Hitchhikers guide to the galaxy (based off of the BBC television series, AMAZING)
Big ones in bold. An Adventure Time pin would be so goddamned epic and entertaining. [quoted image]

I predict it will be Ash vs Evil dead. There are Many fans of the show and films. Also Bruce C. , Lucy L. ,Ray S and Dana D are all regulars on the horror convention circuit. Callouts by Bruce and hopefully the other (3) would be epic.
Spookys server will explode and it will sell out in record time unless it’s a very large or unlimited run.

I would actually prefer The Thing or They Live. Hopefully they might be on the short list for possible future runs.

Quoted from Haymaker:

It probably won't be evil dead. Ben Heck pitched evil dead many times and chuck always shot it down. I think Ben's game from CGC will be evil dead even though he says it isn't.

I agree Bens game will probably be ASH Vs / Evil Dead or Bible Adventures. I forgot about his CGC game. With that said I’d like to see Spooky make They Live or Killer Klowns. Nosferatu or a black and white Vincent Price title would also be very cool. I really enjoy Horror and Sci Fi so almost any title that they release works for me.

Spooky Pinball are causing the balance of my bank account and free space in my home to shrink on a yearly basis. 28 years ago my wife used to ask me why doesn’t anyone make new Horror Themed pinball machines? I always responded that there’s just not enough demand.
Last year when Halloween was delivered she said I told you 25 years ago that there should be a Halloween pin and you said That it will NEVER happen.

Yeah same reaction here if true, not for me but happy for others that would be excited.

What’s the rumor?

Is this a hint that your next IP is about cyborgs? So... like Terminator, Blade Runner or Awesom-O.

Blade Runner! That’s one of my all time favorite movies. How do I get on the preorder list? Where do I send money!?!

It’s Killer Clowns From Outer Space 35 Anniversary this year. Lots of pinball potential!

The latest releases are good themes but I’m holding out for JC’s The Thing or Megadeth.

The Thing or Escape From New York would be Awesome!

Quoted from mpdpvdpin:

Porkys…no thanks. No one is throwing money at pre teen horny dumbshit 80’s schlock.
Better picks for 80’s alt comedies / spookies include Better off Dead, Revenge of the Nerds, Dead Alive (Braindead) Night of The Comet, After Hours Repo Man, Heathers, Pump up the Volume Lost Boys Monster Squad and Return of the living dead.

From your list I think the most likely to be released would be
1) Lost Boys (huge bonus for this title because it’s very popular with women)
2) Monster Squad
3) Revenge of the Nerds

What I think is actually going to be released Is Ash Vs Evil Dead. This could be really cool but I’d much rather play/buy Killer Klowns from Outer Space or Escape From New York.

Quoted from VoodooPin:

Spooky Needs to acquire the Porky's rights. If anyone can push the theme to limit and not cross the line it is Spooky.

I don’t think we will ever see a Porky’s Pin but the Graveyard Gloria sequence from Porky’s 2 is Hilarious! On my God Pee Wee you humped her to death!

The scene where the guy bursts thru the door with the machete at the hooker shack in the woods from Porky’s 1 is just as funny !

Quoted from SpookyLuke:

Yeah I think considering it's a sculpt, mech, lcd, rgb light shows synced to game, 10+ minutes of licensed clips from New episode, custom animations, and a video mode on the mini lcd you play with the action button. Plus we can continue to update the topper. It updates right along with the normal game. We really threw the kitchen sink at this thing as far as value to the customer as best we could.

Looks Awesome!

Quoted from VoodooPin:

I am shocked how popular Chucky is. I went to HHN in Orlando this Halloween and people ate up the Chucky merch even though the Chucky house was really bad.
Didnt the Spooky Crew go to HHN this year? The Chucky rumor might have legs.

Chucky is very popular. Halloween Spirit had a pretty large area of Chucky costumes this year. It wasn’t as large as Scooby Doo but close. I was surprised at the size of the Killer Clowns From Outer Space display area. I almost bought the cotton candy gun and Pop corn bazooka. Both were very cool!

Chucky or Gremlins would both have great potential for a great machine. I’m still hoping for The Thing or Escape from New York even though Ben Heck posted that there won’t be any more John Carpenter releases.

Quoted from Jagrmaister:

Now that Spooky is in bed with Warner Bros... my bet is on Gremlins.

Gremlins wouldn’t need a separate “family friendly” alternate title like TCM. Custom callouts by Zach Galligan ,Phoebe Cates or Corey Feldman? I believe Zack and Corey both do appearances at Sci Fi / Horror Conventions.

I remember being so annoyed with the one dude who would NOT STOP CHEWING GUM throughout the whole stinking movie. Other than that, fun time.

He was very annoying! Fortunately I think he was the first character to get killed by one of the robots! It’s not to common that we cheer when a character gets killed in a horror movie but it was great to see him go!
