I vote Halloween!

The Crow!!!!!!!!! Best soundtrack of all time

Quoted from drfrightner:

Well you've narrowed it down by a lot but let me just say you're not giving me much hope here. You just trashed 'Goonies' one of the single most iconic movies from the 80's. Goonies is beloved still to this day just like Ferris, Fast Times, Blues Brothers, or Ghostbusters.
Let me say this I know more about Horror than probably anyone on this thread. I can only say when I see some of these suggestions like House of a 1000 Corpses or even Texas Chainsaw I cringe.
These movies are niche movies with little following and would be a GIANT step back for Spooky if you ask me. You took a giant LEAP forward with a very popular cartoon, why wouldn't the follow up head into that direction?
When you mention horror or anything in that World, I think about Iconic Movies that still live and breath today. Movies that have become Iconic and followed by even non-horror fans. Texas Chainsaw isn't one of them. All the reboots, all the remakes of Texas Chainsaw have bombed... that tells you something.
You need Lost Boys and why does Lost Boys work because its horror mixed with some comedy. Or you need something that is one of the more highly licensed properties like the original Universal Studios Monster line. You need something with an appear that stretches out of the pinside community.
If we're going to focus strictly on horror Jason, Freddy and Myers are the big three not Leatherface.
I'm guessing to take another leap FORWARD not backwards it has to be a property with wide appeal.
if you ask me if I'm digging into the horror world I'm going with Universal Studios Monsters - Halloween - Jason - Lost Boys - or something really Iconic like The Shinning. No matter what theme it has to be something where you can get the assets which probably excludes The Shinning, Silence of the Lambs, and puts you back with something like The Lost Boys.
Or how about The Crow with that amazing soundtrack the movie has become a CULT CLASSIC! Please don't let it be Texas Chainsaw or something like House of a 1000 Corpses.
And Goonies that is a MUST MAKE TITLE... if Stern does that title it sell 3000 copies instantly. Whomever does Beetlejuice again another 3000 machines SOLD!
Just my opinion. In the end I guess it just depends are you trying to sell 2000 copies or 3 to 500 copies. Theme matters every single time. Given the success you had with MR I would think you'd want to follow that up with something really Iconic. I guess we shall see.

For some reason the pic reminds me of The Flinstones?! Can’t say why though

Is it too late to become a Fang Club member for early access to the Halloween game?

#6720 2 years ago
Quoted from Multiballmaniac1:

Fang is unlimited. No guarantee to getting a game

Quoted from SpookyCharlie:

Webstore is fine... working on the regular site (which is in dire need of a makeover!)

Any chance you will have a game to play at the Expo in Atlanta in August?

#7462 2 years ago

Are there any advantages to buying directly from Spooky bs buying from a Spooky dealer?

#7467 2 years ago
Quoted from P1nhead:

If spooky doesn't do enough business in your state, then it is up to you to be an obedient taxpayer and pay your fair share to the government for allowing the transaction to happen.

Gotcha so if I go through a dealer (even though TN is not one of the states mentioned by Spooky) the dealer will not give the option but rather assure this tax is paid I assume?

Yup, the win goes to King Pin Games for getting numbers out first!

I have to give a plug for KingPinGames! So far they have been a great company to deal with. I’m #420

As soon as I look at that machine the theme-song starts playing in my brain!

Quoted from PinMonk:

Whatever you do, no more triple stack playfields on top. If you want three levels do it like Krull and put a full scale 1/2 size playfield UNDER the playfield with a special lens in the main playfield so you can see the whole thing with normal physics and then a small playfield on top of the main playfield.
If you want three levels, that is. I'd be fine with two.
But really, Scooby Doo is the easy choice because it has terabytes of content so little animation would have to be done to smooth out the UI and modes and there are tons of celebrity guest appearances plus massive nostalgia across all age groups.

These whiny b****** are the outliers and not the norm! I freaking love my Halloween and she ain’t going nowhere so……I couldn’t care less about the flippers losing money!

It’s got a ways to go to become flawless but I’ve met the Spooky crew, there good guys are will not let us down.

See yourselves out crybabies

My guess would be it’s a bunch of guys who justify 10k toy purchases to their wife and friends that they are “great investments.”

I worked my ass off to buy things I enjoy plain and simple. I love the theme and love the gameplay, my kids can worry about what the dang things worth when I’m dead.

I also know good, hardworking and creative people when I meet them and Spooky is just that

Quoted from Charlemagne1987:

I don’t get all the Spooky hate either. I love this company. I bought my ACNC second hand, called Spooky when I had trouble connecting the limited edition factory topper. Even though I didn’t buy direct from them they were very patient with me and walked me through it, even sending me some connector parts free of charge. Plus I LOVE this pin. I wouldn’t hesitate to buy from Spooky again. They have incredible customer service and great products.

True. Pinball machines are like Pringles

Quoted from cooked71:

Luckily you only need one.

#11474 1 year ago

At least he’s straight forward in what you get with his posts

Quoted from mpdpvdpin:

Where does one come up with such bad takes on a situation? It’s a LIMITED RUN which means …it is RUN in a LIMITED number. That number is 250. Sure the new price might be a tough nut to swallow but I bet you see them all sell after stern announces its new homogenized run of the mill game with another $500 price increase.
Also, I just noticed this (pictured) and…it’s very funny to me.

Bible Adventures may be under rated. Shoot a ball in Goliath’s mouth, part the Red Sea mech. Don’t get me started on the Revelations mini mode!

Quoted from mpdpvdpin:

Yeah, there’s gonna be a ton of coding hours for Bible Adventures.
BIBLES A HUGE BOOK.

Not sure if that’s true but would not be a total surprise

Quoted from mpdpvdpin:

I heard, on good authority and I’m not joking…that Charlie is officially retired and that Bug and Co are running the company. I don’t know if that’s true. But I have heard that aaaand that theory may or may not explain a few things.

Does Halloween need a major code update? Absofreakinglutely. It is overdue and they know that.

Yes they had a powder coat issue and IMO are doing the right thing about it and replacing the parts.

What you are missing my friend is that the people who love Spooky don’t want another Stern like company. The artwork is the best in pinball, the tense feeling of a horror theme is nailed With the layout. The game “feels” like a horror game. It works

IMO they need to nail this next update and soon in order to take this game over the top. After that, loyalty won’t be an issue on the next release. Flippers be damned!

Quoted from PinMonk:

Don't get the point you're trying to make here. Stern didn't "let Ritchie go," he bailed for JJP. But I still don't see the relevance to any point you're trying to make.

Turtles is still a very good design. It just has the wrong theme. A kiddie theme with a tough as nails design is what borked TMNT hype. A more adult theme and it would be sought-after.

No argument there. I hope they're doing that. He seems to have a handle on conservation of design.

That's great, but none of that matters if the layout is terrible. And it's easier (i.e. not impossible) to fix CODE than it is to fix a bad layout after the fact.

I don't think anyone wants them to be.

No, because the risks were nowhere near as great when Rob Zombie was released as they are now. They are a much larger operation now. Sales targets (and upfront expenses to get there) are multiples of what Rob Zombie was. The highwire has been moved up, and after the Halloween/Ultraman debacle, they smoked a ton of goodwill they had built up over the last 6 or 7 years. Poof, up in smoke. That blind devotion does not return overnight, it has to be re-earned.
So the next release is VERY high-stakes for Spooky, whether they or you or anyone else wants to admit it. I want Spooky to succeed, ESPECIALLY if they're doing Scooby Doo, but they can't do that unless they learned what went wrong last time. Not the esoteric crap like powder coating. The CORE problems.

I hear ya. This one gonna hurt the wallet

Quoted from onemilemore:

RIP my wallet. Dream theme for my wife, good thing we'll have some time!

#11835 1 year ago

Yeah he lost me a while ago but PinKaren is Gold!

Quoted from Lopa:

I will say this, if you own a business that supports other businesses it is best to not trash their product especially if what you are trashing isn’t even the actual product. It comes off as petty and obnoxious and in my opinion has no place on this particular thread.
Lost a customer here.

#11873 1 year ago

Yeah I hardly see a connection to “cancel culture” on this one. Just plain old fashioned freedom of choice.

Quoted from mpdpvdpin:

Since the dawn of time people have chosen not to do business with people they don’t like. That’s just human nature.
