Quoted from jester523:Yeah, I dont care how many CEs they make. Isn't it better for the consumer to get exactly what they want then to have artificially imposed rarity to charge more? Seems silly to root for that as a consumer.
Exactly, I want to buy a machine outfitted the way I want, without fighting through all the BS of finding a distro and fondling his balls to get one...too much ball fondling lately btw...
Quoted from Kkoss24:Sounds like you’ll be able to pick between 2 themes .
Like the alien pin...you can play the first movie or the second....
Quoted from PinBalt:Wouldnt it be a Meatloaf Bat out of Hell Pin?
no that line is from Rocky Horror....
Quoted from hollyw00d:Still scratching my head at Ultraman.
Me too...wtf...the most obscure theme I've ever heard...so many other good themes out there....never seen the show and I grew up in that era....
Quoted from Kkoss24:Does RnM have 2 different art packages on the standard and BSE?
no, just the butter cabinet was the upgrade
the trim was different color too...
so its 10am central? 11 east coast time then? and it will be showing up at the shop.spookypinball.com ? (pinball machines)
Quoted from stf_dnx:Has anyone heard of pinballstar? I got the paypal receipt immediately, but nothing else so far
Pinball star sent out an email to me confirming my order and to not ask what machine number...ie dont email them with nonsense.....
Quoted from Roostking:Im not a big fan of that gold either, im hoping i can do something to make them more orange or copper color. I had to have the topper! If it werent for that, i would have gone BSE
I agree, not crazy over the color...wish there were options there....
Quoted from Betelgeuse:I only recently heard about the thinner playfield used on R&M and the issues it caused. Is it confirmed that these new games are also using a thinner playfield? What's the reason for that?
The playfields may be thinner, but they're made of , in my opinion, a better grade multi-ply plywood. This has its issues as the flippers stand more proud ( now corrected) as well an any other switch or scoop originally made for a standard thickness playfield...the switches seem to be adjustable enough to work, and I've never adjusted mine on my R &M , but occasionally miss a switch hit...
Quoted from Frax:I mean...that's great and all, but it seems like shooting yourself in the foot to have to go to completely non-standard parts (because you're saying that while standard ones will work, it's not optimal), or have to adjust everything put on the playfield, to save 25 or 50 bucks a playfield. Would really love to hear them talk about this one....anyone know if they did previously? I didn't follow any of the R&M stuff.
Yeah I'd pay a little more for that playfield that was a standard thickness made the same way...the playfied finish...awesome...probably the best I've seen IMHO
Quoted from Frax:Just for anyone that ends up doing this for any of their other games, reed switches are what he's talking about, I think. On a thinner playfield they should work even better than on a standard one since they're closer to the ball.
I believe they're designed based on the playfield thickness, and then a little shy of level...sonic could comment as he makes them...
Quoted from Gambeno:Who cares about pf thickness! I'll be happy with a PF that doesn't dimple and I don't have to install 30 washers on it. I'm okay with losing .1 inch for that trade off.
Exactly....this guy gets it ...
Quoted from Zablon:Not sure. I haven't looked at it yet to see what the cause is. Hadn't actually considered it might be the magnet strength.
I suppose a very slow rolling ball could get snagged by the magnet, especially if the switch is located at a flat horizontal location...I haven't installed mine yet on my R&M
Quoted from Beechwood:This is my home brew play field, birch .688 inches
[quoted image]
now that's thick.....
