Quoted from oneballjab:

I joined the fang club a week ago hoping the new pin was gonna be Little Shop Of Horrors, Beetlejuice or Evil Dead.

any of those 3 would be incredible, with Beetlejuice and Evil Dead potentially selling out as fast as Richard & Mortimer.

Quoted from Lethal_Inc:

What’s up with the term hard pass? Wouldn’t it be an easy pass as your really not interested? Or hard pass as in it was hard to pass up because you like it but something didn’t click for you. Weird....

I've got an idea for the next Spooky pin

My Duck Tales pitch

Duck Tales would sell like hotcakes if you could tap that NES nostalgia too, via the remake.

After the R&M feeding frenzy and selling out in less than an hour, I'm going to be adding the new Spooky game release to my schedule and making popcorn just to watch the excitement

#2262 2 years ago
Quoted from benheck:

I watched this with my niece last night on my greatest Goodwill find ever - a working Laserdisc player!
[quoted image]

Gremlins 2 is a masterpiece only eclipsed in it's day by the genius that is the Super Mario Bros movie (which just had an extended cut releases with an extra 20 minutes: https://archive.org/details/super-mario-bros-1993-the-morton-jankel-cut-extended-vhs )

#2776 2 years ago

Ben please put this thread out of its misery and reveal da dang game

#2778 2 years ago
Quoted from Coindork:

If someone was to go that route, why not just do Disney Afternoon?

yeah while we're scooping up affordable Disney IPs, might as well buy 'em in bulk

#3194 2 years ago

when I log on to pinside I've started going to the "Machines" tab to see if anything's been added instead of checking the eternally-trending "[Manufacturer]'s next title???" threads

But I keep coming back to this thread just to watch Ben fuck with people.

Quoted from jeffspinballpalace:

With people scrutinizing every syllable of every word Charlie posts, nobody paid attention to his last post?

Controversial opinion, but I'd prefer if Spooky designers weren't murdered at a cursed campsite

Quoted from jellikit:

It is time to get real.
[quoted image]

that would be "time to take out a loan" kind of theme

this thread is on drugs

#5021 2 years ago

a Snoop Dogg pin would work so well and it'd have a Martha Stewart cameo for sure and be goofy as hell

#5181 2 years ago
Quoted from mpdpvdpin:

Futurama, Simpsons Treehouse of Horror and Batman: The Animated series would sell out faster than Spookys server could handle. It would be goddamn feeding frenzy if these were produced in a limited capacity. For this reason, I actually prefer that Stern or JJP tackle these IPs and for Spooky to continue to fill the niche market by actually making games with themes THEY love.

true, Spooky is best suited for the themes like Evil Dead and BTILC, themes that wouldn't sell Stern levels, but would easily sell out for Spooky's capacity.
but yeah I'm looking forward to the playfield reveal(s) and the pinside feeding frenzy.

#5430 2 years ago

Gregg Turkington theme please. Let's get some Left For Dead In Malaysia action at Spooky

#5493 2 years ago

I think the dual theme is a great idea. There are literally MORE great themes being posted here than companies like Spooky could ever produce before our generation literally dies.
I would love it if this became a successful strategy and each new playfield design gets 2 themes. Let the playfield designers focus on their magic, and then just double up the art and software departments to have at it. The way the market currently is, and given Spooky's current production rates, I'd like to this they could easily sell more than enough to keep going nonstop.

Quoted from SpookyCharlie:

I promise you this... somewhere right now, there is in fact... the Loaf. Lurking. Quiet. Subtle.
I say no more, I say no less.

Archers Of Loaf confirmed????
I didn't even think of that, excellent choice!

#6092 2 years ago

RHPS would be an incredible theme

#6776 2 years ago

holy crap this is mindblowing.

and the topper! the shooter rod! the hedge toy! the levels! the playfield drops!!!

GAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

#6794 2 years ago

Ultraman and Halloween both look incredible. Just wow

#6813 2 years ago

I'm so logging in Wednesday morning to watch y'all race to get your orders confirmed. I anticipate Ultraman selling out by noon, Halloween selling out in the first week.

#6846 2 years ago

big DJ Spooky fan, but I guess I'm now also a Spooky DJ fan

#7012 2 years ago
Quoted from SpookyCharlie:

As if getting to work with a dream theme, going to Japan, having others embrace our quirky love of all things crazy campy kaiju wasn't enough... how about artist Matt Fank landing a Marvel cover with our backglass???!!! So happy... so proud of everyone who helped us make this all happen.

My biggest wish is that a bunch of these Ultramans get shipped to Japan to help fan the flames of pinball excitement across Japan.
Once Japan becomes a viable market (they have like 38% the population of USA) the themes that might get made are truly exciting. I want a company to start working their way through all of the primo Nintendo franchises.

#7130 2 years ago

just get Bowen in front of the games for 10 minutes so we can watch

Love the theme choices and I am excited to see what they look like.

#13096 3 months ago
Quoted from Rizmo:

Wondering what and who from Looney Tunes they will use. There are so many characters so many different ways to integrate the theme. All i know is Marvin the Martian better be on it.

LT has such a deep well to draw from, I can't imagine how a designer would even begin to choose what features to go for. I'm excited to see what they jam in there, because I assume it'll be a huge menagerie.
This is a good license in that they'll be able to secure a lot of assets for a reasonable price. (I assume)

#13137 3 months ago

TCM looks like TWD level of horror game and will probably end up in every horror fans' lineup.
LT looks like a throwback to colour + design we haven't seen in pinball in a long long time, and I hope it does really well at family locations.

4 flippers and 4 ramps on each, and each upper flipper has a shot hidden underneath it? That's really cool.
I love the corkscrew ball-lock mech on the left side.
Layout and design look great for both, all up to code now.
