Quoted from SpookyLuke:

But wait what if this game has 2 themes? Other theme could be dropped any time I bet...

oh c'mon dude!!! lol IMPOSSIBLE I SAY

Quoted from nogoodnames222:

yeah and if you don't believe him he'll come in here all smug again

Ahh let Ben have some fun here. He's Mr. "inside info" in this thread. I think it's great

Quoted from clempo:

That's not how it works. Ben is safe because he is not wearing a red shirt.

Maybe you're not familiar with Kirk's taste in women?

Quoted from wackenhut:

Most people have not even heard of Ultraman, but will choose it because of the lower quantity. This is pinball for you. Do we know how many of Ultraman are going overseas (aka Japan)?

Probably not many. As has been discussed... they have very little space hence pinball is not a priority.

And I'm not even talking about the phone booth sized "living pods" (can't call them a house) that are popular in the cities.

Quoted from metallik:

Way late to this, but WTF, I watched the Spooky site closely after the initial problems, and it took over an hour for all the games to sell out, during which the site worked fine. You could have ordered on a fucking 33.6kbps modem with that amount of time. Don't blame Spooky for your inattentiveness and tin-cans and string internet.

I'm going to test your theory next release. Dusting off my old US Robotics 14.4 as we speak. Was quite the speed demon way back when.

Quoted from jellikit:

I started with Hayes Smartmodem 300 to USR HST 9600, I will stop there but let's say 14.4K means you were rocking it my friend.

Well I did slog my way through a 1200 all the way to the USR. I also started on a Atari 800 with the shoebox sized floppy drive then went into the Amiga scene. Back then the worry was your phone bill when connecting to private BBS's. Of course those crafty euro's had a million schemes around that

Quoted from jellikit:

And you were spending countless hours to crack Psygnosis games...

Hey don't blow my cover dude! The statute of limitations may not have run out on all that stuff. lol

Quoted from Billygrippo:

Like I said before.....
License or not...
7-9k for some plywood not even the best...and cheap as you can go with boards and whathavyou “Ben Heck”.
No game play, shitty trailer etc! Get it together! I think spooky might be realizing how others cut corners and are taking note incorporating slowly. Not a bad thing, but not a good thing. I would love to up my profit margin as well, but I’m not gonna do it starts pissing people off. You know damn well it does, so don’t criticize me while your being quiet so you can look like the good guy!
I’d rather have a no licensed game so we could get better PR and full value!

Ahh Billy GRIPE-O (such an appropriate moniker btw)

I've been buying machines off and on for 25 years and Spooky's R&M PF is one of the finest ones I have.

"Cutting corners" might be simply removing all art around posts, etc... or putting down washers damn near everywhere...
which in either case Spooky DOES NOT do.

So ya need a better gripe Gripe-o.

Quoted from Billygrippo:

So it’s ok to rag on me, but I can’t have opinions? You guys get riled up quickly

Nah it's just fun to say "GRIPE-O!" And you've been living up to that handle right here in this thread.

As far as me ever shutting my mouth I can only assume you're referring to my current avatar.

I mean surely that's got to be it right?

Quoted from WizardsCastle:

Anyone else thrown off my the whole "Spooky" branding. I get it fits them, and it was cute when they started out, but I feel like they're a rapidly growing company, and maybe it's time for a rebrand.
Ultraman isn't "spooky", neither is R&M. Feel like they sort of typecast themselves with this name.
Emery Pinball maybe? Just always see that BSD plaque and Ghost on my TNA as a weird eyesore.
Anyhow, that's just the marketing in me coming out.
I like that we have another serious player here to give the big boys some competition. You need that in every industry!

I find it pretty endearing actually. The less corporate... the better.
