If it’s He-Man insta buy.
Quoted from Fytr:Interesting...
With Ben's New Boards (tm) being used in the new game, I'm seriously hoping that Spooky can move away from the individual LED boards on every friggin' insert and go to lightboards like most other manufacturers. I would consider R&M barely manufacturable with all those friggin LED wires running all over the place, blocking access to everything under the PF.
My game even shipped missing one led altogether, I can't say I blame the guys on the line, it's a nightmare (QA is fired, though!).
I think the idea there is that it makes it a super cheap and easy repair for operators/owners. One LED dies, you don't have to replace a whole big custom shaped board. Just keep a couple LED boards on hand.
Quoted from Zablon:Monty Python and the Holy Grail.
Oh damn you!!! Ok, so now there are 2 insta-buy titles for me! Hoping for my sake that it is not HG or ED/AoD at this time.
Well im sure with whatever they do it will be awesome. Im not worried about the theme, they will do it justice.
Quoted from benheck:"Gimme some sugar baby"
It's BEETLEJUICE!~
The other image sure reminds me of the stretch face of Gina Davis Character / Barbara... df4aca9394c997d86a698f6dc6654c91.gif
Ben did they secure the Harry Belafonte songs for this game... Does the cocktail while being served at dinner while Day-O- comes on eat the ball ? Also does all the "SHIT" come to life on the playfield when "Jump in the line" comes on ?
Maybe it's a puzzle.
Quoted from Baboon:Yep , those black things looks likes kind of scales !?
Those look like layered objects...not just a piece of the artwork. Like some sculptures from the playfield along with some of the artwork.
Quoted from Zablon:Monty Python and the Holy Grail.
Wait, what!!! hope not, as I was guarding my PinFunds for a bit (who am I kidding)
Quoted from dnapac:Those look like layered objects...not just a piece of the artwork. Like some sculptures from the playfield along with some of the artwork.
Sounds like you are describing Delia Deetz aka the art from Beetlejuice her “sculptures”...
Quoted from dnapac:Those look like layered objects...not just a piece of the artwork. Like some sculptures from the playfield along with some of the artwork.
To me it just looked like graphics that were layered to give dimension (shadows). That is assuming when they say cabinet they mean, the actual side of the cabinet, and not any of the playfield.
Except that damn purple area....that purple with those black lines on them looks familiar to me for some reason. But if it's graphics, it might not be purple at all, might just be off color in a shadow.

The purple area to me looks like a rail...that’s the color/pattern of the hardware of the bloodsuckers addition.
Quoted from benheck:Deer God. If Pinside had existed in 1963 ya'll would have solved the Zapruder film in 17 minutes.
Ha! Gotta love pinside...as an insider...I’m sure your having a blast reading these wild guesses.
Quoted from dnapac:The purple area to me looks like a rail...that’s the color/pattern of the hardware of the bloodsuckers addition.
You might be right, something I wondered is if this was through the glass and looking at side art. You can see the what looks like reflective glassiness to it...but I thought it might just be shine off the cabinet.

It looks like a shot of the shooter lane. Sculpts (like ACNC) and the rail below...what are the Sculpts?

I feel like this statement has a ton of clues in it.
Quoted from Zablon:I feel like this statement has a ton of clues in it.
Nope. Wrote it on the toilet. Just saying you all are very analytical and it's funny!
Quoted from dnapac:It looks like a shot of the shooter lane. Sculpts (like ACNC) and the rail below...what are the Sculpts?
Well I still think that looks like a stone wall/blocks and some sort of cloth banner art....but who knows for sure. Could be a rug?
Quoted from Zablon:I feel like this statement has a ton of clues in it.
Type in Bela Lugosi 1963...”The Kiss”.
Thinking “Classic Universal Monsters.”0
Quoted from benheck:Nope. Wrote it on the toilet. Just saying you all are very analytical and it's funny!
Like I said...you’re having too much fun with this
Quoted from Deaconblooze:Deer god? Rad.
If anyone is gonna do a Cernunnos pin right… its Spooky.
Quoted from dnapac:Those look like layered objects...not just a piece of the artwork. Like some sculptures from the playfield along with some of the artwork.
Yep, bottom left corner looks like playfield art with that reflection on the surface ... upper bits looks like sculpts.
Shirley those stones are not Sculpted Standups!?!
*the stones/teeth look kinda like they're printed 2D as well, unless the speckly foreign looking debris is on a PF glass ....
If it's evil dead ill put that game right next to my rob zombie. If it's spooky doo then Alien remake goes next to starship troopers.
Any chance we could get mortal kombat?
Quoted from crowley_letters:Bela Lugosi as Dracula Pin?
[quoted image]
It's definitely not out of the question....given all the swag.
I cannot tell for sure if those are sculpts or artwork, and that distinction makes it even tougher. lol.
Quoted from denoument:Looks like teeth to me. Purple could be bottom lip.
Yeah, I'm thinking it's a closeup on one of the beaky-faced creatures or a snake.
Kaneda is saying the next title will be Halloween. I can believe it and honestly I said it myself Halloween makes a ton of sense because ...
1) The license is held not by a studio but a private business. They own everything every clip, the audio everything.
2) The license would be CHEAP we're talking maybe 50k up front against 5% royalty. Very easy license to put together.
3) Halloween has never been touched for a pinball game.
4) Halloween new remakes just grossed a staggering amount of money. At this point its the single most successful horror franchise with two more movies to come. Halloween movies will be front and center for the next 18 months this October and 2022 October. Spooky basically makes these games over a period of one year so he's looking at maximum PR.
Here is the problem however... I'm not sure how many people will want a SLASHER movie pinball game. On location can you see this game at a family restaurant ahhhh no. I know a lot of people have already told me if its anything bloody they're passing. I think for Spooky to sell all 1,000 copies he's going to need a digital marketing program to reach those REAL FANS of the franchise. I don't think there is 1,000 games selling to purely pinball fans, they will need to find those hardcore Halloween fans with some money.
I think the biggest thing about this game it needs to be COOL, it needs to be bloody, because I think the real buyers are fans of the franchise.
I can see right now a Myers bash toy you hit it he goes back giving the appearance of a slashing knife. I can see a knife as a ball stop, and hopefully it has an Elvira style house as the main feature in the back of the playfield. If I was designing the game I'd add small video players in the windows of those houses showing Myers walking around... easy to do.
I've NEVER ordered, owned, or even considered an Spooky game. However this game is one I would buy instantly, but how many others would do the same.
Again I think Spooky should have done another mainstream title, prefer a comedy like Fast Times at Ridgemont High or something like that. How about Airplane from Spooky? But going back to Horror ... I think they should have gone with a horror comedy like Lost Boys, Beetlejuice, Army of Darkness, but Halloween it works for me!

I have TNA and R&M because I like those games and those themes.
My interests don't go to horror death or gore at all really. I draw the line at Spooky
I'm certain enough that it will be horror theme rather than one of my desirables this time, that I've diverted and taken the "support our local" position and paid down on a Fathom ME instead.
It will none the less be interesting to see what comes out!
I'd buy Halloween/Saw sight unseen. A true horror/slasher pin is long overdue, there are a gazillion 'family friendly' pins already.
Quoted from drfrightner:Kaneda is saying the next title will be Halloween
After saying it would not be a horror movie. Got it
Quoted from mrclean:Really wish it was .... So I Married an Axe Murderer....
In honor of Charles Grodin's passing (RIP);
"Can I please commandeer this vehicle?"
"No."
Later,
EV
Quoted from Completist:I think those look like sections of a centipede.
This movie was a little fuked up.
