Quoted from gonzo73:
Halloween make $70 million worldwide in 1978, on a $ 325 K budget! that's $ 317 million today.
It was the most successful independent film for decades.
So not a cult movie...
Not arguing... just some facts.
True, but it's budget or success does not take away from it's cult following over the years. This is a movie people watch more than once, and this is the point.
When I bring up a film example like Fight Club, its IMDB rating is super high (Rating: 8.8/10 · 2,083,653 votes), with more than TWICE as many votes as The Big Lebowski (Rating: 8.1/10 · 801,275 votes) Both movies were released within a year of each other, so this is a very fair comparison.
From a numbers and business stand point, Fight Club would a dead ringer in comparison to TBL. TBL was produced so we now know TBLs numbers and it is a very sought after game with prices close to 25K at one point during the debacle they had.
The point I make is that Fight Club is a must buy and hold for a core group exactly like TBL. These games are once in a lifetime machines (art) and fans know this, unlike family friendly JP or TS4, which will swap owners many times, you can find them on Craigslist right now.
I don't mean this as a which movie is better argument, both are good, I'm just stating numbers facts and if i'm running a multi million dollar business, I'm definitely looking at these numbers to choose what we build next.
