Seems weird that he pops up with that after it was already talked about at length here days ago...
Quoted from Yesh23:Ultraman is game 2? I’ve never heard of him but I guess he’s big in Asia
Ultraman was a great show here in the US also. an older show but still good. Watched it all the time growing up.
I've never seen anything Ultraman related, but a zany Japanese action guy who fights monsters probably lends itself better to pinball than silent knife killer (not saying it will be more popular or sell more).
Quoted from Wariodolby:If it’s the ultra man we grew up with. That’s an instant buy for me over Halloween!
[quoted image]
Would be an ista buy for me if I could afford it. Too much going on money wise for me right now though. I'll have to wait for scalper prices to sizzle off then pick up a used one.
Quoted from johnnyutah:Well if it is Ultraman, here is some the Halloween artist Jason Edminston’s go at an Ultraman Kaiju Garamon- Art would be cool-
[quoted image]
Getting Edmiston to do both machines would be amazing but I doubt he's on Ultraman (or whatever the second pin is).
It would appear Spooky are quite the Ultraman fans...

Quoted from cooked71:Is Ultraman somehow tied to the Godzilla universe?
Don’t think it is related except it’s like a Godzilla and Jonny Sokko flying robot. Cheesy Japanese monsters.
While l like Halloween as a theme because it’s dark and brooding but I think Ultraman is a way better theme. It’s like BM66 same TV era.
Dune. The sand worm eats pinballs like the Ballygator on Nip-It. Once it eats enough balls Multi ball.
Be funny if the “niche” theme sold more than the “mainstream” theme.
For me it’s going to come down to which is the better coded game. But we’ll have to decide before knowing that.
Are they really going to devote 2x as many coding hours?

They mentioned this was a 2 year project in the making.

This doesn’t seem reasonable to me at all from a development schedule. To be feasible, I would think the rulesets would need to be nearly identical with the main differences being the video and sound assets.

Yeh, that’s what I was thinking. I guess it’s possible to insert a theme into a generic ruleset. Probably not ideal.

It seemed to work okay for Medieval Madness and Attack From Mars! LOL

For shallow games it works fine.

Agreed

Ultraman? THAT would turn my head.
Talk about an out of the blue theme...
Quoted from greenhoody:Ultraman will sell 50 machines.
Ultraman has WAY more easily identifiable potential as a pin than Halloween does.
All I can say is if Spooky really does this, there BETTER be a Color Timer action button/warning indicator on the lockdown bar.

What’s wrong with that? I wish like hell Stern would re-theme Iron Maiden.
I know nothing of Ultraman but it looks fun and campy, even not knowing the title it still has appeal from a theme and design standpoint.
Quoted from CaptK:Poseidon Adventure + slime-y/squid-y monsters + jetskis and fire!?! WTH? YAS!!!
NOW WHAT??
Great flick.
I remember playing a few Ultraman games back in the day and maybe catching a few reruns, but I don't remember much other than that. Pretty sure he never speaks either.
Quoted from Zablon:maybe catching a few reruns
I used to watch Ultra Man, and it was ok, not great.
Right after that Gilligan's Island came on, and I loved Gilligan's Island when I was like 3-9 years old.
(this would have been around 1972-1978 for me anyway).
Anyway, I have enjoyed reading all these posts, and I hope all of you and Spooky has a awesome year!
I’d be way more into Ultraman than Halloween. Hope it has lots of wacky Japanese action show sound FX!
Ultra Man isn't what I would consider a great show, but I would not hesitate to buy an Ultra Man themed pin by Spooky.
For anyone interested, you can find the original Ultraman series (1966-67) free on Pluto TV.

Quoted from Wariodolby:Put Highlander in the top 10 niche pins you might consider.

This was the one I remember ...
A bit all over the place in some ways, amazing it wasn't a 90's B/W license Lol

Lol.

That said, the clues were there for those that did the picture digging.
It's camp, niche and Charlie adores it.
