Omg, if it’s a choice between Cheech and Halloween I’m in big trouble!!!!

#5702 2 years ago

Cheech and Chong…

Talk about an easy license to get…. iirc, they own the rights to their movies - at least the early ones. Saw an interview where they were saying they were so low budget the studio basically said, fuck it do what you want - thinking it would go nowhere.

Cult classics now.

#5703 2 years ago
Quoted from Ty-Arnold:

Cheech and Chong are well know in America. I didn't know they were known about much in Australia and Europe.

Yes, in Germany it is also known

See, I actually think you can do a lot with this game. The Game Modes don't have to exactly be pulled from the movie. Some would be nice though. Here's some modes that I just wrote down
• Save the Babysitters by hitting flashing shots
• How many Pumpkins can you light up
• Collect Candy
• Kill the power to homes
• How long can you stalk Laurie Strode (Multiple ramp shots)
• How many Knives can you collect (Target Shots)
• Fight off Michael’s Hold (Pop Bumpers)
• The Chase
• (Mentioned by someone else) Final Showdown with Dr. Loomis Shot Him Six Times

I'm still very curious how they will pull off 2 themes with one playfield... It can't really be a totally different theme from Halloween since the playfield art must be somewhat related to Halloween... I can't wait for the reveal!

#5707 2 years ago

Two different art packages, same playfield layout.

I'm sure the playfields will have completely different art. Think Family Guy and Shrek.

Two themes using the same playfield layout. Two separate stunning art packages, display assets, call outs, etc.

The game will only be scary if Meyers is after the player. I think it defeats the purpose and the entire lure of the franchise to actually BE him creeping around, killing women. How would that be scary or suspenseful. We may as well have a snuff pin. In a multiplayer scenario it would be cool if one player could play as MM against the other three players but again I feel like this style gameplay is better suited for F13.

Quoted from greenhoody:

That's a good guess. I'm guessing it'll be something like a TV show something where the set is always in a home or an apartment for the most part.

Not a guess, just a personal dream theme for a good pin. Along with...

Trailer Park Boys
Ren & Stimpy
Pinky and the Brain
Animaniacs
Futurama
Gremlins

Quoted from Zablon:

Except that's been mentioned multiple times..
Time to REALLY think outside the box.
Most likely something pretty old...and very obscure. We know it isn't BL, anything JC, or AS for example. Not TA, not even Deathbed or Rubber lol.
Or apparently Trailer Park of Terror
Hmm....

No need to think outside the box, I already know the theme, and have played Halloween. Lots of very cool stuff in this Spooky release.

Ben said it wasn't another horror theme but it'd be hilarious if it was Beast of Bray Road. They even have a campy movie to use for content!

Had to go back and read what this was in response to. I'm confused. You said 'trailer park boys' like you were guessing which had been mentioned at least twice. I'm assuming you aren't allowed to state what the theme is, so it can't be that...so not sure what the point of this post is. Also, I woudl love a Trailer Park Boys pin. It would HAVE to have Conky.

When you work a 14 hour day and worked the shortest hours of the design team, yeah... call me lucky to be here helping them. I crashed out at 11 pm. Bug was texting me for things they still needed at 12:30 a.m. On a Thursday?! Yeah, pinball is in fact hard. The last few months have been intense to say the least.

So damn proud of this team... they took it upon themselves to elevate everything we do, and made it happen. All the crazy long weeks and hours really paid off big. The quality of EVERYTHING shows. More improvements in every area than ever before.

Soon you will see why I am so lucky to be here working for them on this game. VERY soon. No small detail was left untouched. It shows.

Stay Spooky!!! Our best isn't coming, it's here.

The point of the post was that he just couldn’t help himself from letting everyone know that HE knows what the second theme is. Annnnd, I’d do the same f’n thing hahaha

LOL! I've known the theme for years at this point, and haven't said a thing. I'm just excited for everyone to see everything. Spooky's done a fantastic job from what I've seen thus far.

LoL, I absolutely hate when the singer holds the mic out to the audience and stops singing. I paid to hear them sing NOT the audience.

Sweet, a Fight Club pin... makes sense, since the first rule of a Fight Club pin would be not talking about a Fight Club pin.

Wow! This thread is crazy…I’ll throw one out…Coraline. Pretty dark and yet fun…not sure it’s Charlie worthy though.

Okay if it was this, I would be obligated under knife point to purchase. My daughters favorite movie of all time, thus I’ve seen it no less than 100 times.
