I just missed the Solo trailer during the Super Bowl! Was not expecting it to air tonight!

    #1389 6 years ago

Just saw this. Sounds like we are going to have a lot of Star Wars coming up!

    Quoted from zr11990:

They are out of ideas. You can tell me I’m wrong but I think that in many ways people are nowhere near as creative as they used to be.

Just look at all the reboots on T.V. and the ones getting ready to come out! They ran out of ideas about a decade ago. We have Hawaii 50, Will and Grace, Roseanne currently and I think shows like Magnum P.I. (one of my favorites) Charmed, Dynasty and god know what else is in the works! Star Trek was rebooted! Hell after we are all long gone Star Wars will be rebooted!

Lol doesn't matter they had the perfect spot to kill her in space and fix the problem as well as add to kylo rens mixed feelings that she died and he didn't pull the trigger but nooooo. She survived for no reason at all, except to Mary Poppins thru space

Agreed, they should just reversed the Marry Poppins thing and had her floating out into space, and not back to the ship. Then they could have cut out that useless casino scene, and added a funeral scene for Leia and used that to inspire Luke to get out of his funk and help the resistance! They could then kill him off in episode 9! Oh and just came across this...

Heard a rumor it might suck!

    #2994 5 years ago

I love all these theories! I mean that sincerely. But what about the fact that episode 9 is going to be the end of the Skywalker story? I would think that would mean Kylo Ren would die and Rey would not be a Skywalker!

    STAR WARS
    Episode Vllll
    No Hope

    Everybody dies.. The end

    #2997 5 years ago
    Quoted from TigerLaw:

I think it’s safe to say that episode VIII was period at the end of the sentence of the Skywalker story. The Anikan/Luke story is well over though HoakeyPokey has some good ideas in his post above.

I agree! You could almost make episode 8 into episode 9 and redo 8! Although I still don't think it would be a fitting end to Luke! TLJ felt like a ending not a middle in a trilogy! Of course we understand how RJ took a big dump on what JJ setup. TFA was actually a OK IMO not great but OK.

    Quoted from kvan99:

Hmmm, I doubt they will kill off Kylo Ren, they've got too much in that character and frankly they've proven themselves to be less creative than the theories you guys have posted.

They do have a lot invested in Ren, but I am taking episode 9 at their word "the end of the Skywalker story" and he is a Skywalker. The end of the Skywalker story to me means no more Skywalkers by name or blood. But that's just me.

I am going to look at this movie like it look at life, hope for the best, expect the worse!

    Quoted from HoakyPoaky:

That said, somebody at Lucasfilm should hire me. This shit is not difficult to come up with.

Somebody get this guy in touch with Disney!

    #3007 5 years ago
    Quoted from HoakyPoaky:

This is why you don't let 3 directors tell a singular story.

I never understood why they did this! Not to mention why not have the whole story (trilogy) written before you start anything!

Disney has announced the next Star Wars film, looks like it will be 2022. Doesn't say who the director will be.

    Quoted from Jediturtle:

There is zero chance either company is going to kill this cash cow. They both know working together is their best bet to maximize profits. They will work it out.

I would have to agree. With Disney setting Spider-man up to take over or replace Iron man as their lead character and Far from Home becoming Sony's highest grossing film, it would cost both parties dearly if no deal is reached.

    #3472 4 years ago

Just watched the trailer, got to say it looks pretty kick ass! Did anyone else notice the person frozen in carbonite? I guess that is standard practice for bounty hunters now. lol

Well if you want to know what a Star Wars kiddie show is, try watching Resistance or any of the Lego themed shows on Disney+. Unwatchable fodder.

I hear you, I tried watching Resistance and man it sucked! I was hoping for something like Rebels or Clone Wars. I believe they canceled Resistance didn't they?

    Quoted from hool10:

Hey guys I have a lightsaber I can pull out of my ass! I can even have lightsaber battles that may even kill me even though you aren't in the room with me!
General Hux is butthurt traitor and gets killed. Useless character.
Apparently you can do mini warps randomly like playing Russian Roulette and be ok.
Character dies then moments later, GOT YA! Chewie dies, C-3PO loses memory, Ben Solo dies (dies twice), Rey dies. Anybody else want to cry wolf?
Palpatine apparently had a gf and created a kid and that kid created Rey. Seems like we missed something. Like a deleted scene. Or film. Weird Palpatine sex comes to mind. Ewwwwww!
Palpatine dies and all the ships self-destruct wooo random!
Knights of Ren be Kylo thug drinking friends with baseball bats essentially.
Finn wants to be with Poe, Rey, Rose, a new ex-First Order girl. Still can't decide.
Luke was THIS close to finding the map to Sith world but he had it all along in an X-Wing underwater. Misplaced that map somewhere gosh darn it!
Palpatine did he clone himself? He had to. So why not create multiple clones across the Outer Rim including Snoke? Hell make some evil clones too like Sith lords.
    Bad CGI on young Luke/Leia.
Everyone has a Deathstar cannon whoopie technology!
    Rose is suddenly irrelevant.
Balance to the force means only Jedi. The dark can't rise if there is no Palpatine right, right? Forget that anybody can become a Jedi and stay good or turn bad! Palpatine is dead and that is all that matters!
The film had good moments with anything Sith coming to mind but this film will be argued about forever. It's a contentious film.

You forgot Chewie finally got his medal the he never received in a New Hope!

    #4161 4 years ago

Saw it last night, didn’t hate it, but didn’t love it either. I remember reading after TFA that JJ wished he had signed on for all 3 movies and TROS should have been 2 movies IMO. If you split the movie up, take the training of Leia by Luke flash back and of course the death of Leia and plant the seed that something bigger then Snoke is pulling the strings in the TLJ, I think that would have really helped, and of course Luke is still alive for TROS. In TROS you have Luke train Rey and at some point make the ultimate sacrifice against the emperor or in the process of turning Ren/ Ben back to good. Really think you should have a Skywalker as the main character when the movie is called The Rise of SKYWALKER!

All in all it was obvious JJ set out to undo the events as best he could from The last Jedi, but I think he might have done more damage than good!
I hope when and if Disney does another Star Wars trilogy they actually write the story out and get one director for all three movies, say what you will about the prequels, but at least it had a clear story arc!

    Quoted from zr11990:

Most sci-fi and fantasy movies do. They are still fun to watch. The original and Return of the Jedi were the best ones. Empire was good except for the Ewoks, they were a little corny.

Actually Ewoks were in Return of the Jedi, not Empire.

I’ll tell you this. The last 4 series finale episodes of The Clone Wars was better than Episodes 7-9 combined. Wow what an ending! Ashoka...now that’s how you write a great female Star Wars character arc.
Rosario Dawson has some serious expectations to live up to if she’s really playing Ashoka in Mando Season 2.

Just watched it and WOW! I was very impressed! Can't wait for Mando season 2!

Um...what? Did you not watch Clone Wars? It was fuckin great to see Ashoka in live action.

I am so glad I watched Clone Wars and Rebels! It's paying off now! Resistance was hard for me to get into, watched season one and gave up on it!

    #5057 3 years ago

If Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni had done 7,8 and 9 I bet they would have been a 1000 times better then what we got!

I would be curious to know how Boba Fett lost his armor? Did he take it off trying to escape the Sarlacc pit or what? We know he didn't give it willingly or at least one would assume!

    #5080 3 years ago
    Quoted from HoakyPoaky:

Guessing it fell off while he was inside the pit being digested. Lodged deep in the Sarlacc digestive tract. He assumed it was lost after killing the Sarlacc & crawling out. Jawas always come along and scavenge. Great scavengers. They found the armor in the Sarlacc’s rotting corpse?
Probably one of those stories that will be left to tell in a comic book.

Probably a story that will never be told or like you said a comic book. Or maybe if the rumors are true it will be explained in the Boba Fett spin off on Disney+

    Quoted from HoakyPoaky:

And speaking of bombs, has anyone caught the first couple episodes of Wandavison on Disney+? I'd say the first post-Avengers Era property is off to a rough start.
It might eventually turn into something interesting, but boy is it painful to watch so far. See how it goes I guess.

I believe it is going to tie into Doctor Strange 2 mulitiverse of madness, so I am guessing Wanda is in some kind of alternate universe or something since it seems to be from her point of view. But I agree it is painful to watch! I read today that Kevin Feige even said there is no way WandaVision could make it as movie.

    Obi-Wan official trailer has arrived
Live action Grand Inquisitor hunting Obi-Wan for Vader! Looks like I'm going to have to go back & rewatch Rebels again. Love the return of the prequel music.
    This looks very promising IMO

Gave me goosebumps! Can't wait! Not a bad idea re-watching Rebals.

Oh you guys are fucking crazy! Thrawn! Hera Sendula! Chopper! Sabine Wren! New sith! It’s essentially a live action followup to Rebels. Looks more promising than Mando! They got me. I’m back IN!!! Hahaha

Couldn't agree more! That looked badass! Live action Rebels!

    #5651 1 year ago
    Quoted from JakeFAttie:

so as someone who hasn't watched nearly any of the animated star wars shows... clone wars and rebels? does it matter which is first? Are they both great?
meanwhile... after a rather lackluster season so far, Mando seems to be picking up. The Jack Black episode was probably the worst ever, but I do enjoy the Bo Katan retaking Mandolor story...

Clone wars first, it starts out a little slow, I actually gave up on it after a couple episodes, but I was told it gets better and it does, so, stick with it! Then rebels. Dave Filoni has stated you can follow Ashoka without seeing Clone Wars or Rebels, but it would give a better understanding of the events if you do catch up on both series.

    #5659 1 year ago
    Quoted from jwilson:

The secret is to watch it in chronological order, not episode order.

I never realized they are not in chronological order, it been so long since I watch them, I probably really should re watch them again!

If you watched Rebels, I think you will enjoy Ahsoka! Worth checking out!

    #5786 8 months ago
    Quoted from kvan99:

The only real thing I've seen that any assembalnce of talent associated with it was Spideman across the spider-verse. What sad shape are we in when a middle age guy is applauding an animated movie. I was just thinking about how corporations have fucked up everything, our food supply, our water supply, drugs, meds etc..I'm sure we'll be paying for clean air soon. It's almost like a Sci-Fi movie plot in itself.

If this was directed at me, I am sorry I enjoyed some thing that causes you such pain and suffering. All I was doing was suggesting to other SW fans that may have watch Rebels, that they would probably enjoy Ahsoka. A live action continuation of the animated show.

    #5791 8 months ago
    Quoted from kvan99:

Well, it wasn't directed at you, but thanks for the sentiment.

Sorry for the misunderstanding, hard to tell on the internet what is what! Again, my apologies.
