    Quoted from BC_Gambit:

That is just preposterous and amazing for a multi billion dollar franchise, where a trilogy is planned from the get go. I mean how does something like that even happen, unless writing is about the last thing on your mind when milking your franchise to death?

It happened with the prequels also.
    Quoting George Lucas:
“Ya, they’re already building sets! God, help me! I’m gonna have to start this script pretty soon!”

Happpend with POTC 2 and 3 also, they were writing their scripts up while filming was already in progress.
    Hollywood's a mess I guess.

    Quoted from InfiniteLives:

There are a lot of really great books that took place after episode 6 that I found way more compelling than what we got from Disney

Oh yes, I really enjoyed Timothy Zahn's "Heir to the Empire". What a great book trilogy, I would have loved to see Grand Admiral Thrawn on the silver screen!

    Quoted from CaptainNeo:

actually, I thought that scene was really forced and completely out of the Vader character at this timeline. [...] Complete bullshit fan fluff.

Thank you. That scene was so out of Vader's character and position (a military General wouldn't be doing infantry stuff) but still people loved it because they saw him going to town on the rebels.
    Fan porn indeed.

    Quoted from Darscot:

Right from A New Hope he gets in their himself, he joins the battle. I don't remember the line but Leia calls him the Emperors attack dog or something like that in the opening sequence.

"The one holding Vaders's leash", if I recall correctly.
Vader doesn't join the battle, he first appears after the stormtroopers have secured the rebel ship (same in Empire with rebel base on Hoth). Whatever rank he may have, I don't see him carrying out stormtrooper duties.
    Let's agree to disagree.

    Quoted from Jason43:

No, they really didn't. It's pretty obvious Lucas was making it up as he went.

Correct. There's a behind the scenes documentary on the prequels where Lucas admits not having started writing the script although the production crew were already building sets.

    Quoted from gdonovan:

    Lando set to return confirmed.

Unnecessary move bringing back an original actor.
I wonder how he will be killed off though.

    Tout suite. It’s French.

Almost there. It's "toute de suite".
