    Quoted from InfiniteLives:

I really expected them to kill off Leia, but she seems an integral part of the rebelling still (seeing how its like 15 people now...) i wonder how they are going to do her scenes next time, total CGI?

I suspect she will have a funeral or they will discuss her death in the early part of episode 9. I have seen where one of the key people involved in the story line said she would not be in the next film in CGI.

I don't understand the hang up with tracking through hyperspace not being explained. Didn't they say they had rigged it to track the one ship which Snoke seemed very impressed that his guy had done that?

    Quoted from Coz:

Yeah, I hated the part where Luke was so mentally tired and worn down that he just disappeared????? What???

He wanted to pass on and essentially willed himself into a force ghost. I am sure he will be in the 9th movie as a force ghost. He said he had come to the island to die which he did.

I also suspect Kylo was lying to Rey about her parents to sway her to join him. I still am not convinced her parents are not somebody we know from the original trilogy most likely.

    Quoted from HookedonPinonics:

Jebus...I just thought of that as well as far as how the hell they got there in that short of time with that great of distance. Dumb to even think they could even stop that thing with those POS ships.....Yeah and this whole relationship crap needs to stop. Star Wars doesn't need this. We didn't need this Rose character either....

What relationship? Does Finn want Rose, Rey, or Poe. It is not exactly clear but I would guess Rey, but actors have been hinting at Poe.
Also, the original trilogy had at least one relationship and that added to the plot and made the film more than just another macho war movie.

I think the age of the viewer affects how the person views episodes 1-3 and 7-8.
If you are presently in your 20's to 30's there is a good chance you would like Episodes 1-3 better than 7 and 8 because you watched 1-3 when you were young.
As someone in their late 40's I can't look past the crappy overacting young Anakin in Episodes 1-3 and say that is better than these newer movies including Rogue One. In Episode I the young child Anakin was so overdone it was very corny and clearly a movie done for George Lucas' children. Also, Jar Jar is the worst character ever in Star Wars movies. I still like the 1-3 movies ok but these newer movies 7-8 just have better production and storylines made for adults a bit more.
Everybody watching needs to keep in mind the Jedi are always evolving. Remember when Kenobi and Yoda had found out that it was possible to become a force ghost? That was a Jedi evolution that happened in Episodes 4-6. The projection skill Luke did to Kylo in this new movie was pretty awesome. It did not need to be some amazing light saber dual to be a great part of the story. It was used as a distraction to buy time for the rebels to escape. It also allowed Luke to be true to his heart and stay on the island to die. His light goes out after Snoke's dark was gone.

What a horribly edited video. Unwatchable.

    Quoted from Mudflaps:

    I loved it.
As for the script, it’s not like the director dropped it on Lucasfilm’s desk. It was a collaborative process. He moved to San Francisco to maintain that process with the producers.
The Last Jedi lacked predictability, something these movies need to survive. There was never a moment where I knew what would happen next. If that makes you uncomfortable as a fan, that was the point.
At the end of the day, it’s still just a movie. And, in my opinion, a damn good one.

That is exactly the way I felt about the film as I left the theater walking to my car.

Just for a reality check in this thread, so far in the poll above it is 165 (decent, better than the prequels) or better to 55 dislikes/garbage. That is 3 to 1.

The who cares votes don't count because they obviously don't want to watch Star Wars movies.

    Quoted from InfiniteLives:

If they had a lot of support, why did no one show up? Being scattered across the galaxy doesn't matter with how fast they travel thru the galaxy.
Luke showed up per say, but now he is gone. Not sure how that will make people want to back them. I'm guessing the average person doesnt see or know about force ghosts so I dont think thats a selling point.

I read an article about how the kids in the scene at the end of the movie showed the kids in the race track stables playing with action figures simulating Luke's standoff with the empire. I am guessing Luke's actions will set off the growth of the rebellion throughout the galaxy. I would also guess that Rey will have much more mastery of her use of the force at the beginning of episode IX.

    Quoted from CaptainNeo:

technically it's not possible, unless they were spring loaded or something to launch them that direction. Which the way it was filmed, was not possible the way they portrayed it.

They could have a field at the entrance doors of the ships that allows for gravity to be maintained on ship, but allows for physical objects to pass. Star Wars has all kinds of technologies and science that is not known to humans on present day earth such as blast shields.
It is sci-fi so we have to forget a lot of what we know in our own lives to accept things that are beyond our knowledge limitations.

I regret voicing my doubts & insecurities in public.Creative differences are a common element of any project but usually remain private. All I wanted was to make good movie. I got more than that- @rianjohnson made an all-time GREAT one! #HumbledHamill https://twitter.com/StupendousWave/status/945409809150500865

    Yup
Back to the topic at hand :
If you want to see how much better bombers were a few decades before TLJ watch the Y Wings in Star wars Clone wars Season 1 ep 3. Just a bit more manuverable. Shoulda picked some up from the gamblers on casino town instead of those slow as molasses ones. Shadow Squardron ftw.
Too bad they didn't have those in the resistance at the start of TLJ.

Just an fyi: Most Star Wars movie watchers don’t give a rip about the cartoons.

    #732 6 years ago
    Quoted from InfiniteLives:

The Y Wings were in action in the original trilogy as well. So that tech has been around for a long ass time to switch over to the slow bombers lol
Also, I'd venture to guess their are more star wars fans who have watched the cartoons then not. A whole generation of fans grew up with them and it's their main link to the franchise...

I am just saying the movies stand on their own. You don’t need to watch the cartoons to understand as much as you need to follow the movies by just watching the movies. Of all the dozens of people I know that have watched the Star Wars movies only one of them has watched the cartoons. Maybe it is a generational thing. I mainly know people in their 40’s and 50’s that grew up with the movies, and their children that are between 10 and 20 that have only seen the movies.

I have a theory that Rey may be Luke's daughter and that Luke did not know it because he thought she was killed when Kylo killed the Jedi trainees, and possibly Luke's wife was also killed and thus Luke went away in despair. One scene where Luke looks at her and says "who are you?" almost seemed to hint that Luke felt he knew her but could not place it. It also could explain why Kylo and Rey seem to have a special bond while also having similar powers being the children of siblings Luke and Leia. It would be even more interesting if Luke's wife was a descendant of Ben Kenobi which would explain why Rey outperformed Kylo in mind control in Force Awakens.

    Quoted from TigerLaw:

That’s a great point I had not considered. The director couldn’t get a single tear to drop when Luke died...a character that is 40 years old and draped with emotions faces death and passes and no one sheds a tear.
That is a shockingly inept total fail that sits solely at the directors feet.

I don't consider him dead. He will be back as a force ghost which was his wish.
