I can't wait for the fan edit that cuts about 30 minutes of unnecessary garbage out and makes it a better movie. The forced comedy was awkward, cringeworthy and needs to go. There was no need for leia to not die in space, she woke up and blew down the door to stun Poe. Then got the golden fuzzy dice from Luke and said, don't look at me, follow him. All of those scenes could be cut from the story and seeing Leia frozen in space only to die after Kylo changed his mind, by his own wingman no less, would have been a good end befitting the late Fisher.
I saw the same forced comedy that didn't feel natural in the second GOTG and it was the one thing that if it had been done better, would have easily stood up to the first.
Overall I feel like I did when I left after watching Kingdom of the Crystal Skull; disappointed that another great legacy and childhood memory was cheapened and made a little less special just for some lousy gags, one liners, and pandering to the young and immature base mentalities.
