    Quoted from PanzerFreak:

In regards to Rey that is because her midichlorian count is over 20,000, even higher then Master Yoda.

Noooooooooooo, not these again. I thought we got past this.

    Quoted from benheck:

How does BB-8 fix the X-wing by short-circuiting it?

How dare you?!? That’s about as close to SW cannon as you can get - cute robots can fix anything electronic with a quick taser blast.

OK so I know Star Wars is space fantasy, not sci-fi.

Still, it takes place "a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away" which means it takes place in OUR universe and thus the laws of physics still apply.

Sure, sure, but you’re forgetting the third law of thermodynamics, which is that cute robots can fix anything with tasers. Look it up, bro.

I’m probably not watching 9 anyways (unless real fans give it a thumbs up in droves), but this would be a horrendous decision.

    #1607 6 years ago

yup, I 100% stopped giving a shit, and the only way i'm seeing any new SW release is if it's free in one form or another. I will not have anymore money going to the SW brand.

    #1608 6 years ago
    Quoted from benheck:

Re-watched it last night. Found it mostly boring this time, humor had no lasting appeal. Noticed even more plot holes, fresh in my memory:
    1) Why doesn't Hux just blow up Poe immediately instead of talking on phone?
    2) How does BB-8 fix the X-wing by short-circuiting it?
    3) Why are the bombers en route when Leia didn't want them to engage?
    4) The hacker betrays them by telling bad guys "Resistance is escaping on small, cloaked shops" HOW DOES HE KNOW THIS? (Rose and Finn don't)
    5) Light speed attack teleports Phasma 300 yards away from Finn and Rose (despite her standing right over them?)
    6) How does Finn drag Rose miles back to base with 10 Walkers looking right at them?
It's also really distracting how powerful Rey is. Remember in Empire (which was set a few years after New Hope) how Luke could still barely grab his lightsaber in the ice cave? Rey can zip lightsabers across rooms with ease, despite mere MINUTES passing since first movie! I hope they at least attempt to explain this, like "the force choose you as someone who could stop Kylo Ren".
Also FINN SHOULD HAVE DIED. It would have been a perfect arc from start of movie when he was running away. But NO. We need to keep him around for a Poe-Rose-Rey-Finn love quadrangle.
So sick of movies that don't function as self-contained stories.

    1) Arrogance...I had no problem with that. The big question is why can’t the numerous surface guns/cannons shoot down a single x-wing? Isn’t that their main purpose? And why are the bombers so effing fragile and snail-like slow??? Why can’t the Empire/New Order shoot down these ALL these sloths?????
    2) it was a failed attempt at comedy. They should have just showed him fixing it. I had a bigger problem with BB8 shooting coins out at the guards during their escape from jail. Cringeworthy. Also, BB8 can do everything!!! He can somehow load himself into a half assembled AT-ST and operate it! LOL!
    3) They knew Leia was a dumbass and knew Poe’s plan was their best shot at letting the resistance escape. Poe and his team saved everyone and Leia and Holdo reprimanded him for his bravery and heroism. Plus, he had a wiener...can’t let him be in control. Pathetic.
    4) He is magic. LOL. The bigger question is why do they go with this “hacker” even though Maz told them there was only one guy in existence who could help them who was conveniently on a planet right next to them (and they actually FOUND that guy just before being thrown in jail!)?
    5) Complete fail. Not only does Phasma mysteriously disappear, but all of her support troops do too!!
    6) Again, complete fail. The bigger problem is they show an aerial shot of EVERYONE except Finn peeling off and flying back towards the base after Poe tells everyone to give up for some crazy un-effing-known reason. Presumably Finn is going full bore at the canon, but somehow Rose has caught up and is coming in perpendicular to him! She somehow got way ahead of him and is able to hit him at a 90 degree angle. She thinks it’s a good idea to ram him to save him? They should have both been killed in the collision. Even if they weren’t, they should have been disentigrated by the AT-ATs. On top of that, she stopped him from destroying the cannon...the ONLY thing that could have breached the blast doors on the base, effectively killing everyone anyways. They’re going to win by saving the things that they love! LOL!!! Pathetic and one of the worst scenes in the movie (all of Luke’s scenes are the worst by the way).
    7) Rey is powerful because she is female. Period. Didn’t you know? The Force is female. KK said so and she owns Star Wars. If you have tits and a vagina, you’re awesome at everything!

    #1609 6 years ago

Ha! I have trouble believing that JJ Abrams would do something this stupid. And would Meryl Streep really take the role? It's not like she needs the money and she's probably got better things to do with her time than get involved with a mess like that.

Lol doesn't matter they had the perfect spot to kill her in space and fix the problem as well as add to kylo rens mixed feelings that she died and he didn't pull the trigger but nooooo. She survived for no reason at all, except to Mary Poppins thru space

Well to be fair they had her goodbye scene with Luke in the can, I’m sure that’s why they kept the Mary Poppins sequence. It was a golden opportunity for them though.

Agreed, they should just reversed the Marry Poppins thing and had her floating out into space, and not back to the ship. Then they could have cut out that useless casino scene, and added a funeral scene for Leia and used that to inspire Luke to get out of his funk and help the resistance! They could then kill him off in episode 9! Oh and just came across this...

It's good that I live in SD because if I came across Rian Johnson, I would probably just punch him and I don't want to go to jail.

Be happy Disney didn’t pay to have ringleader Katherine Kennedys face on Mt Rushmore yet.

Bored last night after a day off getting caught up on stuff, tossed it on the tube.

Opinion not changed one iota. Found myself fast forwarding through a number of scenes. Everything with Rose was horrible dreck. Casino sequence awful. Watched the scene between Admiral purple hair Tumblerlina and Poe and just thought it was just terrible. Doing some management courses now as I have an upcoming staff meeting and have to set an agenda for improving teamwork, staff motivation, corporate structure changes, etc and thought how horrible a leader/motivational character she was.

    Just cringe-worthy to an extreme.

Carrie Fisher in the originals was great, in TLJ not sure if she was just phoning it in or the years of drug abuse taking its toll.

A few gems that could have better if reworked- The bombing run in the beginning while eye rolling in itself could have been something great in another setting, some great optics. A few scenes on the island with Luke and Rey had potential. The fight scene in the throne room still the highlight of the whole movie in my opinion. CGI Snoke another high spot and they killed him, what a waste.

Having been there as many times as I have, I'm pretty over Mount Rushmore and honestly wouldn't care.

Ok so after getting the Blu-ray and trying to watch it again, what I did to make it easier to watch is, after every single line a female says to a male, just add “... with your dumb penis!” to the end of it. It’s brilliantly satisfying and makes you understand what Kathleen Kennedy was trying to go for.

I finally saw last Jedi i did not like it but it was not horrible. It just did not feel like star wars to me for some reason.

Are you upset that Streep is 'Merica's finest actress ever and Carrie Fisher was a fat bloated drug fueled carcus at the end?
I'd rather they write her part right out of the goddman movie. Whom gives a shit aboot Laeah in anyway since ROTJ?

Star wars was dead for me after the first Three. I loved them and I loved Carrie Fisher. I never new she was a drug addict till she had the heart attack. The second three movies, to me were not good and the newer ones are horrible. I don't care if they continue her character or not as I wont watch any of the new movies coming out. I said what I said because I despise Meryl Streep because she is a typical Hollywood elite loudmouth telling people how to live while wallowing in the filth herself.

    #1638 6 years ago

On second viewing I did notice the Jedi texts placed on board the Falcon in the drawer. Have no idea who put them there, Rey or Yoda.
    Doesn’t really matter.

Is there ANTHING this Rey character CANT do naturally? Any real meaningful test for her at all?
    Terrible.

Without veering further into politics, I'd suggest you stay off of Mark Hamill's twitter feed as well. If you start crossing out creative types based on their political views and activities, you'll run dry on interesting stuff to watch, read, and listen to pretty quickly.

I agree. Without that it is great and having it in there really hurts the credibility of the rant. There is so much to hate about TLJ without being unnecessarily misogynistic.

Rogue One strikes me as more of a "new wine into old skins" scenario.

Everyone has a right to their political views but when they start using their fame to scream it from the roof tops and try to force it on others that is when I stop watching your movies. Ellen Degeneris, sorry about spelling, is gay and so is the guy from Doogie Howser but you never hear them screaming their asses off about it and I respect that and what they do is none of my business but the Judd bitch for example, screaming about her vagina and the blood on her sheets is just insane. Hell every one of their awards program are nothing but contests to see who can on up the other.
