Well, there are 11 modes in the game. You have to fully complete 8 modes AND collect the SIM cards after you complete the mode. If you don't collect the SIM card on the same ball, it will NOT be lit the next ball.

8 collected SIM cards spelling DIALED IN will light SHOWDOWN.

Basically shooting jackpot shots.
Reminded me of TOTAN wizard mode battling the genie.
Now, if you turn up the sound all the way, you'll hear the game saying "right ramp has a weak spot" or "left ramp has a weak spot". If you make that shot, it will do more damage than the other shots and reward more points as well.

It appears as though you are battling with the head of D.I.E. in a 1v1 fight. You have to shoot certain jackpots to lower their health, meanwhile they are "shooting" back at you via the string of inserts leading to the flippers. It's unclear though if the shots that are shooting back at you reset or not if you hit them.
