Hi All,
I have a bizarre issue with a new Swemmer Electronics driver PCB.
Two PCB sets were purchased from Fred, one for my Haunted House and one for Spirit and this issue only exists with one of the PCBs so it appears that the issue lies with the board. I would appreciate any assistance finding the root cause.
Spirit uses a two stage/dual winding coil on the Stargate ramp. I assume that one winding kicks the ramp up and the other holds it there. This being said when I have the one driver board installed the ramp vibrates as soon as the pin is turned on and will not stop. The coil starts to get warm and the power transitor (pf mounted) get very hot. I have replaced the power transistor and coil just to be safe but I am not sure why this is happening. I have also replaced the main driver transistor on the one driver PCB but it tested ok when removed so that is not it. Is it possible that it is something on the pf in this assembly that this PCB is less tolerant of than the other?
Let me know your thoughts.
Thank you.
