Whats up with these interlock switches in Spike games. WWE and Kiss had them installed. Starting with GOT they removed them most likely for a cost cutting measure since 48DC isn't that dangerous.
However a forum member in the Batman66 club was mentioning his game does have an interlock from factory. He actually posted a pic showing it but didn't provide the mfg date. I do also know for sure my friends Batman does not have an interlock which has an 2016 mfg date.
So does anyone know when and why they started adding these back?
Black Knight owners here, do your games have an interlock?

I've been wondering about this as well.

I know from the game code update READMEs for the current games they've been adding coin door interlock switch support "back in" to the code. Last week I saw a Deadpool (Premium) unboxed that had the interlock. That one was not even 60 days out of the Stern factory. What puzzles me is I thought the SPIKE 2 system was supposed to eliminate the need for the interlocks? Remember seeing that somewhere.

There's a Black Knight Sword of Rage (LE) at the Banning, CA pinball museum where I tech at, unfortunately I'm on leave from there right now (I just had surgery) and don't know if that one's got an interlock. But I can check later. I'm willing to bet our new Elvira's House of Horrors (Limited Edition) has one too.

Can they be retrofitted to older games (e.g. Batman 66)?

I have a BKSOR Premium on location that has the HV interlock door switch. MY DP Pro and IMDN Pro both do not have the switch.

Honestly I have no idea. Reach out to Stern tech support.
