The very bright LED lighting from the Spike system board in my GoT seems to produce a bit of a cool washed out appearance to the translights. I also note a little vignetting at the edges and corners.

I had a thought to augment the Spike backlight with some additional LEDs, placed and colored to highlight specific aspects of the translight.

In this example: Add Blue to top left, Yellow to bottom left, Red to right mid and bottom.

Alternatively, I had thought to add gels over some of the Spike LEDs.

Anyone attempt such an update? Any thoughts on where to grab or provide power to new LEDs?

Meh...doesn't bother me.

There is an adjustment in the settings to dim the backbox lights (not just during service stuff, but all the time). It can make it look a bit less washed out.

Always reduced at least 50% .

Does anyone know the name/size/rating...anything...on the LEDs, used on the Spike system board?

I don't think putting colored lights behind that beautiful alt translite is going to make it look any better. Maybe warm whites could make the colors pop a bit more, but the stock backbox light for this translite is fantastic IMO.

Dropping backlight intensity to 75% seems to address the washed out look for me.
