The new art looks to me like hap-hazardly cut and pasted over whatever couldn't be on there for licensing reasons. Not much thought other than that. Art by the yard......
Quoted from kaneda:Man, you will have many many people buying alongside you. Remember this is Pinside. People LOVE to claim THEY ARE OUT!!!! Whenever anything gets revealed. Because half can't afford it, other half just want to be upset about something, but they will buy because opening a NIB is like crack. Everyone on here needs a hit...
Oh shut up......
Quoted from Chambahz:I don't get it either.
Hand drawn art. Side rails. Awesome game with complete code.
New dots.
Nothing but hate.
I would have expected "Wish I can afford this one but its too expensive for me".
Instead, everyone's panning on Stern.
Whatever. I'm not going to try to defend Stern.
I don't need to.
I can afford it. I just won't. Not worth what they're asking. Cash-grab.
Quoted from pmWolf:Don't know if I agree. Looks like it was nearly remade from the ground up...new voices, dots, art...and Stern probably had to re-pay for the license.
The only thing re-used is the shot layout. Even the toys are re-done.
Pretend the old Spidey didn't exist, and the $7k price tag would be in line with what current machines go for.
Having said that, I'm perfectly happy with my current Spidey. The new voices worry me a bit, because I love the custom JJJ quotes. (Also, no Bruce Campbell? No Macho Man Randy Savage?? I don't think I could live without that).
Curious to hear the sound package and the music.
I'm always excited to see new pinball stuff...hope this game ends up in the hands of some happy collectors!
Pete
IMO, Stern is competing against the market value of their '07 machine, the same way MMR had to compete against the value of the original MM machines. If Stern wanted this to be valued at more, it would have had much superior art, and better interactive toys. I don't think it does. Not worth it.
Quoted from Concretehardt:So it comes with metal apron, service rails and shaker but Goblin no longer moves.
You get some, you lose some.......
Quoted from PinB:You'd think Stern would give you the same matching powdercoat for the legs as they do for the siderails & lockbar, right? Apparently not. If you zoom in, it looks like they're sticking stock Pro legs on these.

What, exactly, do you want for $7000???????
Quoted from BMore-Pinball:bitch - moan - gripe - bitch - moan
just wanted to get my 2 cents in
Noted. Thanks for your participation in a discussion forum.
Quoted from kaneda:I think this pin looks amazing and for $6,600. Hell yes it's worth it.
Guys, can we just STOP pretending that this machine is worth $6,600????????
Quoted from kaneda:I know we were comparing Spider-Man VE art to RZ yesterday. Did you guys see this? Pretty cool, huh...
