Gee...did this ever happen to any of you Scared Stiff owners. I had the glass off to wax the playfield. After I finished I changed the balls and played a game. The ball hit one of those Leaper Thingys and the damn thing flew right off and almost clocked me! Scared the crap put of me because the thing screams....and attacked! Thank heavens I have the reflexes of a cat! (I STILL peed a little!) Is this supposed to be this way...or am I missing a part??

There are keepers that slide on the sticks but I like them to bang the glass.
I always just pull all three frogs when I work on them.

Ahhh, so they're supposed to be like that....sheesh!...you could put an Eye out

I almost pissed reading that line.

They should have stoppers on the rod under the pf to keep them from shooting off when the pf glass was off

Yup, just get into the habit of pulling them out when you take the glass off so the rods don't gaff the PF when they go airborne.
You can also put mini post rubbers on them to keep them in place.

Always trying to help Pinsiders not get injured from flying pinball Froggy parts!

    #10 7 years ago

I've done this. Nowadays, I always remove them whenever I take the glass off.

    Quoted from spfxted:

Thanks! Hey, I just found this on Pinbits! They make little pee-pees to put on the end!

Thanks for the info, might have to score some of these.

I had electrical tape on the ends for several years and then I found them at Pinbits when I ordered my Deadworld mod and finally got around to putting them on this past weekend.

Them frogs will not be scaring me!

Yes, the Frogs are not scary when you give them the pee pees....

I learned not to play COMET with the glass off - the ball goes airborne on that game quite often - particularly certain shots off of the DUMMY Drop Target will sometimes fly over the left flipper/return lane plastics and all of it - often hitting the glass and always resulting in the end of the ball.

In other words, with the glass off the ball will come directly at the player.

One thing I never liked was balls coming at me!
