Hey guys,

glad to see you back here at a special posting about coindoor airbrushing.

This posting is made in addition to my IJ redesign project. In this posting i will show you every step of a new airbrushed coindoor. But for first i must show you my first great coindoor which was made in 2007 on my old RS game. When i made this coindoor, a lot of guys didn´t noticed this coindoor first then when they picked up a RS game and they had a black hole in her game......

Parting out the complete coindoor and sanding down all the old black colour. Wet sanding is important with different steps of sanding paper, to get a smooth surface. Be sure, that there are no bumps or damages in the door, now it´s easy to adjust it all! If all is done, all parts will get a complete primer airbrush.

I´m using a special primer from the car industry, which allows now a second wet sanding, before we starting up with the brandnew colours. The first step is now to brush the white colour from the clouds.

Now it´s important to fix the coindoor with frame at the cabinet, to get the exactly positions from the decals for the next middle blue colour. I´m cutting out some masking decals on my cutting plotter, which were fixed at the coindoor and the frame. Brushing now the middle blue colour, and then the darker blue colour. It´s a step by step project, after every brushing you must check it with the cabinet!

And here is now the complete airbrushed coindoor, last step is a final clearcoating. This door was made with hand cutted masking tape and cutted tape on my cutting plotter, but at least all could be made with hand cutting. Needs tiny little bit more time, but it´s possible.

And here is the final result at the game from 2007.

The new coindoor from my IJ project will be shown here in some days with more details about this work. Would be nice to see you again, from all over this here, George.

Placing some tape on the coindoor and using now a pencil to draw the outlines from the amulet on the tape.....

IMG_8041 (resized).JPGIMG_8041 (resized).JPG

#13 7 years ago

Cutting the outlines now with a very sharp scalpel.......

IMG_8042 (resized).JPGIMG_8042 (resized).JPG

#14 7 years ago

Covering now the complete coindoor with newspaper, and it`s finished for the basic airbrush colour in a very bright gold......

Using a very thin liner brush and painting now in a middle brown the first outlines. With a very small liner brush and paint like ink, the details were drawn, all with freehand. Last step is now put some highlights, some shadows and many different colours very gently on the areas. The final result will be seen after the clearcoating, then the colours will shining very bright.
