Is it worth upgrading the speakers on the Ac/dc pro led?
Speakers I'm considering are the pinball pro with high energy 12" sub option.

Get this while it's on sale. Polk audio psw10 powered sub. You can run 2 pins on it at the same time. Totally worth it.

Second the external sub. I installed replacement back box speakers in my AC/DC that were designed for pinball. To my tin ear, they did not add much and I could never get the bass balance control to my liking. Volume is a zero sum game with only one amp. Put back the stern speakers and an external powered sub and love the sound and I can crank the volume more to my liking. I used the 12" Dayton sub from parts express.
Just to be clear, the High Energy model is different than the 12". The high energy subwoofer is a high efficiency 8". The problem with a 12" is that the game is simply underpowered to maximize anything larger than an 8". Though it sounds good, you really do not gain extra volume and the low power struggles to move the 12" sufficiently.
Though we offer the 10" and 12" options, our high energy 8 provides the best performance in my opinion. However the large woofer options are cool, and they sound much better than stock?

Quoted from Psw757:I prefer the integrated setup.
I do as well, however our subwoofer comes with an integrated port for adding an external subwoofer if you ever choose to do so.
It definately provides more base, which is typically the premise of getting a larger speaker. With an amplifier, the 12" would kick more. In this case the power level is low/stock, and efficiency is most important to get the most performance
Sound better....that's subjective. The 12" sounds great, as does our standard 8" model
Yeah I get that if powered properly and given the correct enclosure a 10 or 12" should be better. I'm just asking that given the limitations does the high energy 8" give a better overall sound compared to your 10 and 12" speakers.
I'm going to buy one of these setups just not sure what is the best solution.
