Hi All! I got a question about a Bally Speakeasy. First I’m looking for the coil number for the right flipper. I looked in the manual and schematic and I can’t find it. Second the roulette wheel wouldn’t spin at all. I reflowed the solder and repined the connector on the small relay board under the playfield and now I’m get a slow quarter turn but that’s it. I’m guessing I need to repin the connectors on the lamp board but was looking to see if anybody else had this problem. Thanks!

I don't have this game and the schematics don't show the wheel so can't confirm.
But at the lamp driver board, pin 17 of J3 drives the solenoid expander board (SEB) presumably for the wheel. Next to the SEB there should be a lonely lamp socket. You should make sure it's populated with an incandescent lamp, not LED. That lamp should flash in lamp test mode and you should be able to hear the SEB relay click when the lamp flashes.
The factory SEB has a jumper position between the relay and diode CR1. Make sure that the wire jumper is cut or removed.

Flipper coils are listed in the manual - they're pretty much the same flipper coils used throughout all classic solid state Ballys.

Post some pictures of the motor and its wiring.

Here’s some photos of the motor

Sometimes when the wheel is spinning slow random pop bumpers are firing as well.. just noticed that

Motor looks in good condition.

Did you confirm if the lamp next to the solenoid expander board is working per what I mentioned in post #2?

You can temporarily bypass the solenoid expander to test the motor. Put a jumper wire between pin 4 (yellow-black wire) and pin 5 (brown-orange wire) on the connector at the solenoid expander board which will directly connect 49VAC from the transformer to the motor.

I will check tomorrow and report back. I appreciate the help!

Ok so that light does go on when the expander board get energized. I have a feeling the relay is bad on the board because sometimes I’m seeing a small spark in it. Also sometimes the pop coils will fire when the roulette wheel tries to spin. Can I just buy the relay or do I need to spend 50 bucks on a new board? What do you think? I also reflowed the connector and relay on the board and repined the connector on the board. Thanks

Maybe the contacts are burnt and need cleaning. Presuming it's an original solenoid expander board, with some effort you should be able to pry the cover off the relay to access the internal contacts. Clean them with sand paper.
The contacts arcing might be causing noise on the switch matrix resulting in the pop bumpers randomly firing.

Since Greatplains is now closed, their website is useful for part number lookups:

LB2-48DP looks to be the relay. Other 48VDC relays with different legs could be substituted with a socket adapter.

Just an update. I was able to open that relay on the expander board and clean the contacts. Wheel is now spinning correctly and saved $50 on a new board. Thanks for the help!
