Moved to Fla, and am getting the games set up.
    Speakeasy does this:
When a ball is served up, the tilt lights come on, and flippers are disabled.
All other solenoids in the game continue to work, including wheel spin.
When the ball drains, tilt lights go out, next ball is served, tilt comes back on.

All tilt switches have been disconnected.

    1) Where exactly did you disconnect the tilt switches?
    2) I presume if you run the switch test in service mode, it indicates the tilt switch is still active?

    Switches all test normal.
Upon futher investigation, MPU J3 is wired nothing like the print, or any of the other 10 games in my collection.
    1-Red
    2-R/Y
    3-R/Grn
    4-8N/U
    9-R/W
    10-B/W
    11-Grey
    12-Grey/W
    13-14 NU
    15-Blue/R
    16-Yel

Yeah, J3 at the MPU board is listed in the schematic/wiring diagram differently as:
    01: Red (Service mode switch)
    02: Red/Yel (Switch Strobe 0)
    03: Red/Grn (Switch Strobe 1)
    04:
    05:
    06:
    07:
    08:
09: Red/Wht (Coin 3 switch return & Left Sacrifice button return)
    10: Blu/Wht (Coin 1 switch return)
11: Blu (Coin 2 switch return)
12: Blu/Red (Not used? maybe not wired)
13: Blu/Yel (Not used? maybe not wired)
    14: Blu/Grn (Start button return)
    15: Blu/Org (Tilt switch return)
    16: Yel (Slam switch return)

How are you starting games with the start button return wire missing?
Do the wire colors at the cabinet/door switches match those at J3?
Did the game previously work ok?

This game worked perfectly before the move.
    Start button works fine.

So if you start a new game, then pull J3 off the MPU board with the machine still on, does the game continue to Tilt?

    #7 7 years ago

    Yes.
Another symptom is tilt light flashes before a game is started.
Also, where I listed wires as grey they are probaby blue, just faded.

    1) Disconnect J2 from the MPU board and start a game. Does it continue to tilt?
FYI, there's also a playfield tilt switch next to the right flipper mech.

    2) Start a new game, then pull J3 AND J2 off the MPU board immediately to isolate all switches. Make sure you pull the connectors before the ball gets served. What happens?

Stays tilted no matter what. Going to look at u11, as the tilt that happens is flippers only, not scoring or other solenoids.

    #10 7 years ago

Are you saying the Tilt light comes on causing the flippers to be disabled, but you can still score and playfield solenoids still activate like it's in normal game mode??

What's the chance you installed a connector off by 1 pin somewhere in the backbox after the move?

    #11 7 years ago

In service mode, if you go to the solenoid test and hold both flipper buttons in, do the flippers flip at solenoid test 12?

    #12 7 years ago

Flippers won't work in self test mode. Somethings up with flipper disable signal.

    #13 7 years ago

Briefly jumper each of these 3 points to ground one at a time. They should each activate the Flipper Enable relay on the Solenoid Driver board:

    1) The metal tab of transistor Q15 on the Solenoid Driver Board
    2) Connector J4 Pin 8 on the Solenoid Driver board
    3) Connector J4 Pin 7 on the MPU board

Problem 1/2 solved, SDB J1 installed incorrectly.
Tilt light remains a mystery. It toggles off and on with the
Firing of any playfield solenoid. Investigtion continues.
    Thanks!
