just got my machine 2 days ago. have been fixing a bunch of stuff but am at a roadblock.

my green mode does not light up. bulbs are good. (tested in other sockets). reading the manual and going nowhere fast. any help would be appreciated.

also, does the right flipper able to do lane changes for the "U" "S" "A" ? only my left flipper changes them.

thanks

Early games only tied lane change to the right flipper. There is a relay (I think on the pf) that switches the GI from normal to green - check the connector and see if it is toast

there are 3 relays under the playfield and all visually looks good. (connectors are nice). I unpluged them and reconnected them.

still not working.

do i need to test the relay? how would i test relays?

#4 9 years ago

since 2 of the relays are the same, and i figured one of them was not clicling in test mode, it was maybe faulty. i swapped them, and my green works now.

guess i need a new relay... now time to find out where i can buy these...

just put the part # in google - I think I picked mine up at marco

For the record, Space Station has lane change on both flippers.
Lane change is controlled by a separate switch piggy-backed on each flipper flipper button switch.
Likely you have a broken wire or miss-adjusted switch on one of the lane change switches.
These switches also control selection of initials for high score.

This happened on mine. Stopped being able to change USA with one button all of a sudden. Looked in and had a loose wire.

Also, you need both buttons to change the Shuttle/Station shot.

Bringing this thread back from the dead. I need help with my right side Green GI. It doesn’t come on during MB.

Here’s what I’ve done:

Re-pinned all the associated connectors with the two GI relay boards under the playfield.

Reflowed solder to all the pins and pads on the underside of the boards.

Swapped in a new relay board.

None of this fixed the issue. Anywhere else to look if only one side of the green GI isn’t working? Bulbs are good. Also the regular GI works everywhere.

I had the same issue of a half green GI. My issue was a bad connecter into the power supply.

Thank you! I’ll rebuild those next.
