Great thread, thanks guys! I just got a Space Station and this has been a great source of information.

I have a small problem I'm trying to figure out with the lower right plastics surrounding a flasher. It looks like they are layered somehow? I could use a few close up pics of that area if anyone can help.
Here are the pieces I have, and I will receive the missing plastic next week.

Yep those are the ones, thanks. I could use some side view pictures though, to see how they are attached. The previous owner had it partially dismantled, and I don't think I have the right posts.
Manual says:

item Post Part # Sleeve/Rubber

c 02-4002-1 03-7542-10
f 02-4322-1
d 02-4008

#257 9 years ago

OK from your last picture it looks like I do have the same posts, so that's good
Just need to see how it sits together

#262 9 years ago

That's a great picture. Thanks Mark.

291069-i.jpg291069-i.jpg

So is the upper plastic just floating (attached to the lower plastic with screws and spacers) or does it go all the way to the playfield at the circled area in the picture?

B-11873-1 is the whole assembly if that helps
a Bay Area Amusements search turned up a pic. but they're out of stock

Quoted from Drano:

Anyone have the part # for the ball save armature/tip?

I was looking through the manual and noticed the bell armature assembly had a part # A6306-2
Looked it up on Marco and they have it-$7.95 for the whole rod with the tip.

In case anyone is interested in a new motor for their Space Station, but can't find one for sale (like me), I was able to get an exact replacement from Marco, and swap parts. Works flawlessly!

I hit the ball under the station to the right, blockquote>

Are you missing the 1-way gate that sits in the right lane under the station? Balls should only come out there not go in.
Space Statiopn pics 010.JPGSpace Statiopn pics 010.JPG

#326 9 years ago

If you mean the left lane under the Station as in my picture-no gates. It goes right to a ball-popper.
*edited*If you mean the FAR left lane, yes there are 2 gates very close to each other.

#328 9 years ago

No, I looked again. There are 2 gates on the left lane. Sorry.
I think you are just missing the gate under the station.

#332 9 years ago
Quoted from Daddy-o:

I did pull the whole playfield apart with my 10 year old to re-rubber and change bulbs. It is possible we put a gate in the wrong spot We have 3 one way gates on our playfield. 2 on the small upper playfield (blue translucent) and one under the same little playfield, after the wire switch on the far left lane. Are these correct???

Yes. Also 1 on the leftside docking port, and the one discussed above. So, 5 total

#336 9 years ago

The 3 orange ones are on during normal gameplay-they are #1251 lamps
the 2 reds are flashers-#89 lamps

Whats do the updated roms do?

I too am curious about this. Also where to get them?

Its hard to beat the look of the original Space Shuttle target decals though,

I have 2 spare decals I'd send. PM me your shipping address if interested.

I'm pretty sure it's:
12 behind the translite, 6 on the playfield, and the 2 red ones in the bank of 5 mounted vertically behind the ramp. (The orange ones are always lit #1251s)
so...20

Mine drops slow yet assembly looks in good shape and is clean.

Mine was slow also. Turned out the drop target had a small crack that you could barely see, and it was rubbing against the washer/E-clip.

but some where you can see the bulbs directly, like near the flippers, were a little harsh. I added some green condoms to them and they look great. I also used condoms on the four yellow and four blue LED's on and below the upper playfield

Frosted LEDs help diffuse the light.

I put Rottendog blue in mine, & I think it matches the blue on the game more or less. Green display sounds cool, love to see a pic.
I wish there were white options available so it would be possible to use gels and get a more custom color.

In switch test mode the optos sometimes both work or are sometimes both dead. Weirdly in switch test while I am touching nothing the game will register a load of switches on its own..

Are the switches that randomly register in column 7 with the optos?

Quoted from Chosen_S:

The original is so classic, if you change it, don’t change it... except ... you have sky blue armor, maybe use that color in the stencil work somehow

Agree stock is almost always better.
IMO, it's easy to go too far with mods and it starts to look gaudy.

Just got a space station and am very happy with it, love the shots and challenging ramp.
My machine has a NOS playfield but the right outlane looks to be different than standard. It appears they were thinking of putting in another kick-back. Anyone have any details on this?[quoted image]

Interesting. I have no idea, but my elderly father would love that. He gets so annoyed with that side drain
