I'm on a similar journey, just started the playfield teardown for a swap, and will also repaint the cabinet. You can follow along on http://pinballproject.wordpress.com. Maybe we can share pics when it comes time to re-assembly and one of us inevitably failed to capture something critical in a photo before tear-down
