almost done.

yep there is a lot of glare on the PF but it's really not that bad in person, didn't removed the glass on the pf.

installed the old side rails, i will change those eventually.
under cabinet lighting is done.

i need to fix the g.i on the coin door, put the new back glass, connect the start button.
i will try a bent plastic. might try i dimmer for the nasa panel.

looks real cool in person, the satellite, pop bumper caps with the comet leds on both side, shuttle toy with the leds, it really change the upper playfield looks.

i think i broke my camera, can't get a real clear shot now. that's what happen when you drop it on the floor...

I'd probably put the Glare Eliminator film over the NASA

i found an anti reflective film, i think i got that from pinball life a long time ago...

camera makes the leds look brighter. with the film on, the nasa reflection is almost gone.

with and without film pictures.

Awesome! Ready to sell yet?

someday, probably, i'm enjoying the game right now, it plays so well.

#511 8 years ago

I can't Imagine what the price would be to buy this. If it were mine I honestly don't think I could put a price on it.

Dang that's beautiful Bob. Sure wish my leg light-ups would come back from the laser cutters, they would complete the look.

no hurry paul... that would definitely look great.

They started to do the set up on the proto and their cutter went down so they are waiting for the part to fix it. One thing after another with this mod. I'm also waiting for my 2 way power spliters too.

Salut Beatmaster,

Ta machine est superbe! Quelle belle job. Wow, wow et triple wow! J'aimerais avoir la chance de la voir en vrai un jour, la qualité et le détail sont vraiment impressionnant.

#521 7 years ago

Merci, sait on jamais puisque tu habite à environs 45min. de chez moi.

*** here's a little update with mustangPaul's leg light up. ***

still a few things i want to do to the game.
new side rails in fall.
connect my light up flipper buttons, yep i have them, just need to find some time.
play around with more leds behind the back glass or might go with strip leds, stay tuned.
not sure yet about the topper, i do have a brand new one from cpr.
a mod for the shooter lane.
and a few other things.

beatmaster - This process is so wonderfully-detailed in your thread; it is no light lift to track your progress this closely, and I'm so grateful. And the final product is a total work of art!! Thanks for giving me the inspiration to save this historic game and return well beyond its former glory.

I used this thread to build a process checklist and materials list of how to go from 'totally needs restoration' to the amazing final product that Bob showcased. If it's helpful to anybody else, I have attached the checklist as a PDF.

beatmaster Any way you could get me in contact with whomever printed your decals for your sideblades?or do you have a file you could send? I've looked everywhere and cannot find blades or decals for this game. My sides are pretty Dang chewed up where someone mounted the coils wrong. Cheers!
