I have a Space Shuttle that I am going to restore.

I'm starting with the playfield and wanted to ask some of you what o should do.

I was going to send it to John at Great Pinball Limited, but after looking at it, I may be able to touch it up.

I really like the new look of Johns playfields and I don't think any amount of cleaning is going to get the whites to pop again.

What would you do?

I've got one at John's right now.

I'll let everyone know how it comes back!

Don't lose those pop caps, the reproductions are incorrect.

What's up with the repros? I got a set squirreled away for my restoration, but never looked at them.

Wow... that one looks in almost identical shape to the one I restored... or refurbished... or resurrected...? I don't dare say it's as good a "restore" as others, but to most people it turned out pretty dang nice. I touched it up by hand.

Anyway, I just dove in and learned along the way with a lot of help from folks here. You can read about it here:

Fair warning though, I talk too damn much. Sorry in advance...

EDIT: What the... I just saw you're in Louisville! You ever come near Frankfort, look me up and if I can help you out I'd be glad to.

You did an amazing job on your restoration. If I run into trouble, I will hit you up. On the bright side this game was fully functional when I pulled the play field out.

I actually live over in Indiana, just north of Louisville. The closer I get to Lexington, the more I feel as a pilgrim in an unholy land.
