Shuttle just landed. I'd like to find one of those stainless speaker panels and figure out how to back light it. If anybody has any info...

The slings are supposed to make a space laser zap type sound correct? Mine make zero sound. All other sounds work. Anybody encounter this issue?

Any source to find the A-8882 Lamp socket? Or is there a substitute?

Quoted from grantopia:

Yeah there should be a noise. I take it switches are registering correctly?

The slings fire fine, they just are very intermittent in terms of the sound/score. I've cleaned/adjusted them and I can get a sound/score really intermittently. Looks like slings score 10 and on and off player 1 scores 10 when the ball launches. So I'm thinking something is shorting against something on 1 or more of the 4 sling switches?

Quoted from grantopia:

does it look like anything is stuck on? Do they register consistently there?

I'm not super checked out on System 9 diagnostics...the switch test results in the game cycling through switches 10,11,12, and 47 over and over even if I engage other switches. 10-12 are ramp switches I think. I assume switch test should just show the last switch engaged, so something's not right!

Quoted from mjalexan:

10-12 is correct, those are ramps. 47 should be off, its this guy underneath "airlock"

All problems resolved!!(Fingers crossed)

Couple tabs shorting out, wire hack in coin door....pinball!!

Now who has that Nasa speaker grill they want to get rid of??

I'm in for 1.

Quoted from Sheprd:

ball used to get stuck on occasion between the spinner and the top USA ball gate passages area... if you hit a weak shot through the spinner.

Had this happening on mine. My issue it turns out was there is a notch in the plastic that allows the gate hinge room to travel. The gate was hitting the notch and limiting the travel just enough that a weak shot would hang up. I filed the plastic just a hair so to allow more gate travel and no more ball stuck issues.
