Quoted from MustangPaul:I wish someone would make the hard stencils so you get the factory type stencil fit.
Maybe someone with the skills could make the hard stencils then set up a rental service? Were the factory stencils made out of wood?

Quoted from vid1900:Metal.
Who has a waterjet or plasma cutter at work?
I wonder how much all of the metal would cost? Stencil set should last 100 years if made of metal, right?
Does the stencil artwork already exist in a file format that a waterjet machine could use?
Quoted from toyotaboy:Waterjet would be better than cnc, less burrs.. Plus waterjet will be faster and can go down to a 1mm tip, CNC would require multiple tips and even then it would be hard to get down to 1mm on a CNC.
I would imagine for each plate (each layer, per side) it would probably cost you at least $50 a piece.. But compare that to $130 for a set of stickers that you can use once.
Sounds like $500 minimum for 10 plates.
Quoted from andre060:It's finally finished!! My first ground-up restoration!
GREAT work!
A few questions...
- Does anyone have any extra decals for the drops that they printed out? I'll pay for shipping.
- How are you getting LED's to work for the playfield GI and for the inserts? I tried a 47 cool white frosted from PBL in the GI and it didn't work in any of the sockets.
- My green multiball light behind the ramp drop targets works great in attract mode, but when I have 1 or 2 balls locked and hit the center drop target, the light does NOT light. What gives? Possible a row/column issue?
Thanks
Quoted from vid1900:Probably a bad bulb.
Should work no problem
I must have grabbed a bad bulb. I pulled a working one from the backbox and it worked in the controlled lamps for the inserts as well as the GI in the slings. Ah, the simple things...
Has anyone put a green LED underneath the front of the space shuttle toy that was tied to the green multi-ball insert light? I thought it would be cool if the ramp entrance was lit up green when a ball was locked and the drop target was down. What would be the easiest way to execute this? One lead of the LED to ground and the other to the signal lead of the multi-ball insert light? Any resistor or diode needed?
Thanks
Quoted from winteriscoming:I think you'd be better off wiring the LED with both leads going to the host socket, which would already have a diode.
Good idea! I'll take a picture once I have some time to try different options.

Quoted from vid1900:I use red LEDs under the Shuttle so it looks like the heat of re-entry.
Pic?
