Quoted from KSUWildcatFan:Gotta dump those blue GI bulbs and tone it down a bit on the shuttle to reduce glare.. But it looks like a nice example! Welcome!
Definitely plan on that. What degree is everyone running on the playfield? 5.5?
Quoted from KSUWildcatFan:Make sure your flipper position is correct also. I had mine wrong when I got it and it was a nightmare to hit the ramp.
Cool will check that out. Just use the guides?
Quoted from Apinjunkie:Welcome aboard new guy! Nice-looking game, especially digging the purple Under the bonus inserts and the astronauts.
Thanks. Fun game so far and tough to score some points. All my buddies say go back to white on those inserts. They look ok to me but may see how white looks.
I do think my right hot dog flashers aren’t working. In test mode which one is to trigger flashers. Are they controlled by a relay?
Quoted from Apinjunkie:Larry at Starship fantasy sells the ramp flaps. Think it's 11 bucks a set , something you have to ask for not on the website.
right on. I will check them out. anyone happen to know the part number for it?
forgot to ask, the sub in the cab is not very loud is it? pretty much get the sound from the head speaker?
looking back through all the pics in this thread, I see a ton of games that don't have the flaps. Was that factory?
so played a crazy good game last night. best score yet since having this two weeks. 3,613,240. had a super long multi ball that helped get me there. I did the flipper upgrade last weekend and man they are super strong now. When I hit the T drop down target, sometimes it hits so hard it will fly into the trough over the flippers. crazy strong. I might need to raise the game up a bit?
Quoted from Puffdanny:mines raised and does the same thing the trick to this game is never directly hit the T drop
hitting it with the left flipper just makes that sucker fly. I am worried that it may break. Does anyone carry the holographic moon decal for it if it does? haven't seen it yet.
Quoted from oliviarium:We don't really sell our stuff... but the 3d model for it is here --
https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4625905
There is a description there as well as to how we got from a print to the finished model.
awesome. will have to see if some buddies with a 3d printer are able to make me this. mine just busted yesterday
Quoted from gdonovan:Ah so you went to the later parallel wound coils vs the stock early series wound coils.
The only way I can make the shuttle ramp now is if I'm striking the ball while its at speed. If I cradle and take the shot it doesn't have enough power to make it. Bushings have been changed out and I'm using Titan flipper elastics.
Did a full rebuild/vid upgrade on mine shortly after I got it a few months ago. Went from not making it up the ramp to the ball flying everywhere. Didn’t change the coils just everything else.
Gap needs to be an 1/8th inch. Make sure you adjust properly. If it’s not you’re losing power
Did you replace the sleeve and coil stop too?
Quoted from misterhare:Best reference point! Bell's? Founders?
Bell’s double two hearted!!!
Can your flippers make it to the beer?
Ok so a couple of questions. Steel stop plate- the coil stop? You may have home that is to thick at the bottom. Of you bend it, that could cause the coil to move. That’s not good. What rubber stops where in there? Glad you can hit the ramp now but could have troubles down the road.
Ended up with an Ohio beer then 2 more Michigan beers!

Seems incredibly difficult for me. I think I've done it once on my machine since I bought it last year.
I have not made it to space pimp status yet. Need to put the work in!!!
Quoted from Apinjunkie:Nice grab, now go for 2. This happened when I powered it off with two balls locked.
[quoted image]
Ha!! That’s awesome
Quoted from MinturnMiler:I just had my mpu repaired to fix problems with my lamps. Specifically the U S A lanes at the top aren't working correctly, no light no lane light coordination. My 2x 3x 4x etc lamps don't work and on the back box, the game over , high score stop and score, the entire bottom array of lamps don't work. Column 1 in the matrix and col 4. Repair the Q15 Q23 Q24 Q26 IC U54 tested OK. TIP42 replaced. But those matrix issues are still there. I rechecked my J7 connector and it seems OK. Any thoughts?
My USA lights have been acting goofy recently too. The A wouldn’t light now the S doesn’t light sometimes but the A does now. Going to take a look to see if the wire is hitting the switch and making the connection. Will be watching for your solution incase I need to dive deeper
Quoted from Jenniebear:The warming resistor is the ones that say 330 or just remove the ground from the flasher boards
And if there are two grounds, you need to wire nut them together
Quoted from hockeymutt:Snipping the 330s fixed it thank you for the replies!!!
Just make sure the leg you snipped is covered preventing it from touching anything
Quoted from jetmechinnc:I’m replacing the shuttle on a pin, does anyone know where to get the rivets/bushing that the wire form rides in that are installed on the metal bracket at the nose of the ship?
Thank you,
Check Marco's. I just replaced my shuttle and my buddy had the rivets. We were not able to use the press. We used a punch and had to hammer them down. Marco should have that wire form.
Quoted from rwredmon:Has anyone replaced the main power switch on their machine and what parts did you use? The original switch on mine is no longer working. I might be able to clean it up but it's not a quality switch to begin with. But new rocker switches won't fit in the original mounting plate, and then you still need something to protect the terminals. Any tips on approach here?
Thanks,
Randy
I have replaced switches on games before. I got mine at Menards. Just make sure you are using like ratings for the switch. They are only 4-5 bucks at the big box stores vs more on pinball sites.
Quoted from hockeymutt:For all the people doing hardtops, I have a solution to the inserts. No clear coat required
[quoted image][quoted image]
No teasing!!! Give up the goods!!!!
yes, keep your eyes on marco. was talking with one of the guys there yesterday and he said they just got in a ton of pop bumper caps that have been sold out for a while. so keep an eye on them. could be up soon.
Quoted from goingincirclez:It's part of a pop bumper yoke, which attaches to the coil plunger. The other half is either still attached (for now), or loose somewhere. Compare to the other pops and you'll figure it out in no time. The Good news is, you can get replacements and install without disassembling the entire thing. And it probably didn't break because you flipped the pf... You just shook it loose pre-emptively
yup that's a pop yolk for sure.
