Hi pinside. Time for me to blast off! Actually after a lot of restore. Have some questions for a newly received apace shuttle. I am going to work through a hardtop restoration and I’m sure I will have technical questions as I go, but to start the game plays and everything registers. It just looks bad. While going through it, I would like to fix up the bangs and bruises. Items needed, so please let me know thoughts on process or where to buy:
1) would like to redo external art. Sides don’t look bad, but head needs redone IMO. So either side vinyl art or stencils. I’ve done a Jurassic park with vinyl and it came out good, so prob prefer that. Have not restenciled. Is the only place that I can get that pinball decals.eu? How is quality?
2) I have one broken plastic. The top back of the ramp. Any place you can buy singles or have to buy all?
3) the ramp flaps have cracking and someone taped them down. I would think a larger ramp flap would work well here. Thoughts?
4) the space shuttle looks solid but dingy. And the nose needs repaint. Any thoughts? Attaching pics for reference.
5) finally there’s something that was loose inside the coin door that I clipped off. Any idea what this was?

That should start. Thanks! Help me make this awesome. My wife works for nasa so we are super excited
Jimmy

Creation and use of your own stencils is possible:

I can't recall what thickness I've used before but Marco sells it: https://www.marcospecialties.com/pinball-parts/66-FSS006

Try this technique for the shuttle, you will have to remove and preserve the decals first for re-creation.

And of course if you have not seen this one, it is certainly required reading:

and God speed!

Not sure what your budget is, but Starship Fantasy has brand new repro ramps with flaps, and shuttles.

That component looks like the slam tilt switch having been snapped off. I can check the wire colors later.

Budget is flexible and looks like I’ll be buying a ramp and shuttle! Question should I go black or clear on the ramp? I see there are clear but haven’t seen pics installed anywhere. Don’t know how the underside would look since not created for it. Thoughts?? Anyone got a pic!

Yep. That's the slam tilt switch.

Thanks. Would it be an issue to leave clipped and disconnected? I clipped it because a lot of stuff wasn’t there but don’t want to cause any issues. It’s HUO moving forward and we don’t “slam”
