Does anyone have the exact three colors for Space Mission? Something I can go to Home Depot, have them mix up and get started on a paint resto?

Just match the best you can using rattle cans. Rustoleum makes a red and blue that will be so close no one will know

I'm about to paint my Space Mission.

The Rustoleum 2x Satin Apple Red is a perfect match for the red (original red can be found under the coin door channels).

But for the blue, I'm hesitating.

The Rustoleum 2x Satin Ink blue is too dark. The perfect color match would be the Rustoleum 2x Deep Blue but it only comes in Gloss. My plan was to spray Satin colors and then clear over with the semi-gloss Rusto clear.

I wonder if the satin red and the gloss blue will render the same when covered with the semi-gloss clear?

Someone already did this?

Are you sure they don't make dark blue in semi gloss? Probably your local store just doesn't stock it. My two local stores stock totally different selections both in terms of color and sheen. I'd look online if at other retailers if the color is right. Or you might consider a different brand. I hear better feedback on montana brand rattle games and they have a great color selection.

I've checked at Home Depot, Lowe's and Walmart, in Rust-Oleum the closer they carry is Ink Blue Satin and Deep Blue Gloss.

It's hard to see on the picture but the Deep Blue is actually closer to the original blue than the ink blue, that seems to have some red in it (I swear I'm sober

So I went with the Deep Blue Gloss, it definitely looks lighter than the original but overtime, I presume it will turn out better than the Ink Blue which will probably get too dark and offset. But it's a personal choice, I suggest you guys to try and choose the one you like better

Ok, now that it's dry I've changed my mind and I will start over...

It's pretty easy to match the red as there is a large portion of original paint hidden under the bottom coin door channel.

But for the blue it's just a 1 square inch area and I've been tricked by the neon lights.

Pulled everything outside and now I think the Ink Blue would have been better, but still not perfect as ideally it would have been a tone or two darker.

Lesson learned.

You have to factor in fade. Without original pantone codes it's impossible to know exactly what it was originally. Add in the fact that these were thin, crappy, inconsistent industrial paint jobs originally. I say your cabinet is looking great. Feel good about it!

Alright folks, I think I've found the closest colors to repaint our Space Odyssey/Mission.

Behold Krylon ColorMax Satin Pimento and Oxford blue

I also own Space Mission.
It is a fun game to play and it looks like yours will be one of the best ones out there.
That is fabulous work !

I too struggle with matching the colors EXACTLY. It is not like your game will ever be beside another and a pinhead will comment, "oh , he got that color wrong".
It is just a matter of pride.
