I am trying to set my Space Invaders to be 1 credit for 2 quarters (50 cents per game). But no matter how I set the dip switches it is always 1 credit per 1 quarter.

How do I get it to be 50 cents per play? I followed the manual for the settings but they don't seem to have any affect. I changed other setting like max credits and it works fine.

I am missing something.

Thanks

I followed the instructions on Page 5.

For Coin Chute 2 I set the following (I want it to act the same as Coin Chute #1)
S17 - Off
S18 - Off
S19 - Off
S20 - Off

For Coin Chute 1
S1 - On
S2 - On
S3 - Off
S4 - Off
S5 - Off

For Coin Chute 3
S9 - On
S10 - On
S11 - Off
S12 - Off
S13 - Off

This should result in 1 credit after the second coin is dropped, but I get a credit every coin I add.

Where can I find a -35 U6 ROM? Is there a file I can download and burn my own?

Thanks for the information, it was driving me crazy.

Quoted from Quench:

jjoravec, you have just discovered a software bug in the Space Invaders U6 ROM.
Space Invaders uses version "-37" code for U6. It's almost identical to the version "-35" U6 ROM used on other games of that era, except for some changes in coins/credits. See this post here:

I've just checked and the "-37" U6 ROM completely ignores dip switch 1 and dip switch 9 in the coins/credits settings (only uses the "Off" setting for both of these particular switches).
Your only solution is to replace the ROM at U6 with a "-35" version ROM.
chippe01, Silverball Mania shipped with a "-35" ROM at U6. Unless someone has fitted a -37 ROM at U6 on your MPU board...

Found the ROM on Planetary pinball site, they have roms for all the bally games.

Will an Alltek Ultimate board act the same way?

I tried replacing the -35 with an Alltek board and set it for SI and the same dip switch settings and it still will only give 1 credit per coin.

I tried the U6 ROM out of my silverball and the SI boards LED just stays on, does not cycle through the 7 flashes. Same things happens when I burn a new 2716 ROM for it.

If I put back in the original SI ROM in U6 then I get the 7 flashes.

Any ideas?

Didn't realize I have to re-jumper the board to use EPROMs instead of the original 9316s. Think I got it now.
