I would hope Borg would be next with Black Sabbath as that does not have to be LCD.
What is this, the guess of upcoming? Or are you an insider?

i'd like to see a rob zombie pin. great art, horror theme, r rated, cool music, cool toys, optional video mode, non lcd. something like an updated version of scared stiff but with sheri moon. john borg would do it right.

I'm a big fan of Borg (my favorite designer) but if he does the next game that would mean he has designed 3 out of the last 5 Stern releases. Hitherto they were on a three man rotation; I have no idea how much work is involved in the playfield designing and toys and what not but 3 out of 5 releases seems like a lot.

Man, did you read my thread already or are we just psychically connected at the frontal lobes?
http://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/an-open-letter-to-stern-this-should-be-your-next-license
Well, we've hit the 250 vote mark...which is really impressive. Zombies have amassed 95 votes in total; though the thread was started to poll what theme do you think Stern will do next it certainly morphed to what theme do you want Stern to do next, which is fine.
If Stern reads this they will certainly see the demand for a Zombie theme. I really like the new show on Fox, Sleepy Hollow - obviously we are years away from this being a theme but it sure already has the makings for a cool theme for a pin.
Quoted from MagicMako:Man it'd be hard for me to resist a Legend of Zelda pin.
That'd probably be my first NIB game. That said, I don't think that theme will ever happen.
Quoted from DrStarkweather:Im betting a younger band music pin. Like GreenDay or Beastie Boys.
ooooh, Beastie Boys would be a fun pin! (I voted zombies though.)
Quoted from MagicMako:I agree that I cant believe a Sonic the Hedgehog pinball was never made, there are plenty of Sonic Pinball video games tho!
Yep and almost every Sonic Game has a Casino Zone with lots of Pinball references. Even the Ballmovement would be awesome with tons of crazy ramps and wires. Imagine a Videomode Bonus-stage ala Sonic 2 moving Sonic through a tube with the left/right buttons + hitting both = jump to collect rings. If you clear all Bonusstages a Yellow Ball appears. ^^
Star Trek - Confirmed
Star Wars - Automated posted this and are taking pre orders
Black Sabbath - Heavily rumored and thought to be Borgs next as it will definitely be a music pin and Ozzy is said to be involved
Superman - Secured the license and Steve R was quoted saying some reference to his first game at Atari
So while these may not be set in stone they are all probably upcoming releases unless something changes
From what I hear it is:
Walking Dead (comic)
ESPN Sportscenter (first LCD for Stern)
Led Zeppelin (Ritchie's last game)
I also really like the ghostbusters idea that was mentioned here for when the next movie comes out. I think that would be a very strong international theme with amazing possibilities for game toys!
Ritchie is doing Superman next. One of his first games may be his last game.
Led Zeppelin would be fantastic though. Stern has the Superman license
I am not a big fan of the Fast & the Furious films, but it would have crossover appeal as a car and movie theme, and the seventh (!?) film is coming out next summer.
A comics-based Walking Dead pin would also check multiple boxes of crossover appeal.
Plus, Star Wars isn't until 2015. Perhaps a game based on a comic based on Knights of the Old Republic would be the ultimate crossover as it would cover comics, Star Wars, videogames, and blockbuster movies
Expo tics ever closer to us and still no substantiated leak of info of or on Stern's next title?
Honestly, I doubt we will get any info at the Expo either the more I think about it. The LE's of ST haven't shipped yet and there just isn't any reason for Stern to leak any data if we are looking at February or March 2014 before the next game is released (and we very well may be as Stern isn't going to release a game in January).
Time for Stern to be creative and have a fresh idea of there own, lets give the movies, rock bands and lot a rest. I for one would like to see a pin based on a theme that comes from a designers dream. This would also save paying royalties for licensed products. Also to reduce costs further, a some assembly required pin! Say all top side board plastics and ramps to be installed by customer. This would reduce labor costs and give the hobbyist a sense of accomplishment and money savings. Should be able to shave a grand or so off the cost of the pin.
Just my two cents worth,,,

Sorry but paying for a license is extraordinarily less expensive then paying a team of people to come up with all new concepts, art, toys, sounds etc. from scratch.
For a modern band, I think Queens of the Stone Age would make for an AWESOME pin!!! I can see so many ideas for this one, and they had a new album that came out a few months back.
Quoted from zr11990:how about Halo
I'd have to buy this one as myself and my 2 boys have been playing for over 10 years. Gotta love the Master Chief!
Quoted from silverball0:Also to reduce costs further,
"Further increase profits." Fixed that for ya.
So, bumping an old thread; anyone have any better idea now that we are three weeks further down the road?
Next pin for Stern, a James Bond format, where the key is find all villains and collect their secret "code" to complete the game!!!LOL
OOOPS there's that four letter word again. haha
nope your all wrong...Stern Pinball should make a...wait for it............make a "Stern" pinball game. Either a generic theme like Big Bang Bar or a theme based on past Stern games themselves...They already own the licence's
I'd love an older movie theme like The Running Man, Blade Runner, Aliens, SkitB is Predator so don't need that. How about going back to original idea's no movie or comic book theme what so ever, or if these companies want to do remakes do some of the late 70's early 80's with all new features and ramps like Centaur 3 by Stern. Better yet Centaur 3 LE.
I know the perfect game,,,,GET SMART,,, none of the toys in the show worked that would be easy for stern to copy!
Quoted from Brlee2003:How about a WWE theme with past and present superstars featured? Definitely some appeal there...
A Legends theme'd WWF/E pin would be phenomenal. I think it would be best focused mostly on the attitude era with a sprinkling of some 80's stars and one or two from the current crowd like Randy Orton. This would be a tough theme to turn down if done right.
I wish Stern had done a Billy Mays pin before he died.
The game starts off with the classic intro: "Hi, Billy Mays here...."
Modes include Call Now Hurry-up, Big City Sliders Multiball, and 19.95 Bonus in which x amount of bonus is x amount of payments of 19.95!!
And the wizard mode would have some sweet music:

This idea is Sensational!

Running Man would be wireform city..
Quoted from maddog14:Next NIB Stern I buy is going to be a Mötley Crüe LE pin. I already got a deposit down with my distributor.
Lots of random comments over the past 12 months about a Mötley Crüe pinball machine, but no solid information. It's happening? Is it Stern or someone else?
Quoted from ahdelarge:Lots of random comments over the past 12 months about a Mötley Crüe pinball machine, but no solid information. It's happening? Is it Stern or someone else?
This is the first time I've ever seen that mentioned. Trudeau is next up in the Stern rotation.
When talking to John Borg during Expo he told me he originally was supposed to have his next game ready in January, but that got switched with John Trudeau (which he was very happy with). So first Trudeau, John Borg's game after that (April).

And Ritchie at the end of 2014 with Fast & Furious A.K.A High Speed III.
Quoted from WileECoyote:I am sure someone could be creative with this theme:
The original "Fast & Furious"?
Looks like Ritchie confirmed the new system boards for the next game. He was supposed to get them for Star Trek, but they weren't ready.
He also said new displays (LCD??) are coming withing the next couple of games.

I'd buy one, but it won't sell in huge numbers.
Stern needs to produce hit after hit before Peak Pinball!
