Looks like it's tied into the playfield GI.

Yeah, should be really easy. Just take one of the four GI lines and splice in a line on each side (so like, one on green, and one on white striped green). Run some sockets inside the figures (I assume through a hole cut in the bottom), connect one wire to each side, and Bob's your uncle.

I built one but I tied the characters to the playfield inserts to make it more interactive. It's not too complicated to wire and if you just want to wire it to the gi like in that video it would be easier. I have Chef sitting in the basement to finish out the set but haven't gotten to installing him. It's built with pigtails to go between the cables and the boards so it can be reversed. I probably have the wiring diagram I drew up when I built it a few years ago but I will have to look for it.

I didn't find a diagram yet but I found these notes on the pins for the character lamps. I just used the manual schematic as a template for the lamp and flasher wiring.

I'm just trying to figure out where you found these figurines to add for the toppers? I can wire them in, but have been looking for them as I have a newly acquired South Park pin.

They were a toy that was sold in stores. I found some on EBay. Pay close attention to the sizes, there were a couple different sizes. The kenny figure on the playfield is the same construction.
