Documenting a South Park South Park machine that has been on route and hard. Looks like Mr. Hankey walked all over the thing.

It will get cabinet repair/new decals, new plastics, and a top side tear down with rebuild underneath.

More to come. Howdy ho!

Thanks LTG! Yes it does. And it even has the original. Kinda shocked.

#4 1 year ago

Cliffys are ordered for very obvious reasons.

Couple more. Funny thing is it flips and plays good despite most rubbers cracked and broken lol.

Quoted from SirMachismo:

After I cleaned the area I printed Terrance and Phillip vinyl stickers, covered the beat up area with the stickers, then mylar, and finally Cliffy’s. I love my game and it is always the favorite of any non-pinhead. The Phillip sticker took many sticker/attempts to get it close enough. Let me know if you want the digital files I used for the prints (I think I have them on my backup drive).
[quoted image][quoted image]

That’s awesome. Yes please i would like them.

Quoted from arcyallen:

I absolutely cannot believe the Kenny hole is in that good of shape. I've played a dozen of these and have never seen one that nice! And that's not an exaggeration. I clicked on the link to see how bad that hole was. At first I didn't even understand what I was looking at. Good luck with it all!

LOL, I had to chuckle like Cartman on the "Kenny Hole".

#16 1 year ago

Thank you! Maybe someone on the South Park thread will be kind enough to get a good picture of that. But I'm sure this can be made to work.

#19 1 year ago
Quoted from sixtyfourbits:

I traded my south park pinball machine last year to a good friend, and it has a brand new playfield on it, so if you need specific close up pics I can reach out to them for you.

Yes, the right inlane as SirMachismo showed would be awesome.

Quoted from Spyderturbo007:

Does this mean you're polishing a turd?

Well played!

Been a bit but I now have the cabinet torn down after testing the new ColorDMD.

It’s seen some fade and dirt huh?

Never realized there was a modesty sticker to cover Mr. Hankey. Guess for the Chuck E Cheese’s.

Quoted from titanpenguin:

But the turd popping up out the toilet is ok?

Lol I know right? I guess you’d disable that if you were that worried. I may swap it for a foot for Mr Hankey and a dumpster for the toilet.

#28 1 year ago
Quoted from titanpenguin:

A pop up beezeelboob?

We won’t even need to change it from Mr Hankey then. One and the same?

#30 1 year ago

Got it up on the other rotisserie so it can be torn down. It’s a little dirty.

Top side is almost stripped down. Someone tried to make a repair to the modular toilet target but it didn’t hold very well.

After disassembling the targets, ultrasonic, drying, new labels, and assembly they’re done. I did get two new ones for the small side Mr. Hankey targets. They were filthy!

Spent a lot of time cleaning inserts, assembling pop bumper assemblies top and bottom, and slings cleaned up. New coil sleeves, pop bumper wear parts, and spoons installed.

Titan clear rings and mixed up some colors on the sleeves.

Quoted from Austin_Pinbarge:

Wow, looks great!
I've got an SP and I'm also getting ready to shop it out. I've had it for about 20 years. My inlanes are in pretty good shape, do you still need a pic of the inlanes?

Yes please!

#46 12 months ago

Will need my buddy to TIG these…

I'm selling tools not trying to buy more! Not much interest in working on cars and pinball may be close behind.

I’m not getting out of the hobby but I was supposed to be taking on my own account at work. Due to a customer selling off 1/2 of its aerospace business, I’m back at my old position. Two weeks after accepting. I was going to have to slow down my work at the beginning of this year. However, they want me to run another account but don’t know when. So I’m on a holding pattern and may get the call any day.

I’m at a time in my life where I rather have my time vs pay someone to do a timing belt for me rather than to do my own or paid to do someone else’s. I was supposed to be dead by now so I’m enjoying life and doing things that I always wanted to do or have within reason. Life’s short and in a position with no debt so why not.

TL;DR version: not getting out of hobby but may not be able to do as much especially not major work.

Sorry freddy its not you but I just don’t want to learn how to weld or TIG. Just too many other things I want to do.

#52 12 months ago

Note to self, when working on a route pig of these Sega/Stern’s double the order of these brittle insert lamp holders. I ordered 10. Actually 20 are broken. So ordered another 12 so I have 2 spares.

The beautiful new rails from ibis showed up today. So wrapped up them and most plastics where I can while I wait for the mechs to dry from cleaning.

You can but it’s just a matter of knowing when enough is enough. But takes practice knowing when enough is enough.

The Hogfather from the PA Cartel 80spit knocked another cabinet out. Now I have to get back to work.

Quoted from Austin_Pinbarge:

I'm hoping my cabinet will look that nice once I decal it. Where did you get yours? I picked mine up from Retro Refurbs.
But what I'm kinda jealous of is your garage. I want a 2 post so bad, but no room.

Customer supplied the decals.

Don’t be jelly is right! I worked my ass off doing shift work and two other part time jobs to get it. Than did side work for a lot of years. I also have a 4 post that my buddy bought for me to store his 69 vette for 10 years. It’s being rented to store another friends car for a few months. I don’t like to do car work much any more.

#68 11 months ago

Some of us have small garages. I’m only at 24x32 so have to make do with only two.

#72 11 months ago

No it’s a buddies GT that’s renting space.

#74 11 months ago

My wife backs the ranger in the spot with the two posts so it's not too bad unless your wife is untrainable. I know there's some people that just can't be careful. Not sure if you have the space, but if you do, build a shop. I live in small less than 1/4 acre place as it was all we could afford at the time. Got the loan to build this shop and wanted a little larger but township wouldn't allow it.

Ugh, yeah I hate that car work unless it's a fun car you don't "have" to work on. And you're right the lift has helped with using as an elevator for getting things in/out of the truck!

#75 11 months ago

Huge thanks to JodyG yet again. He got me a new ramp flap made so got it on. Many betters. Expect to see these flaps available at Marco in the future.

IMG_6296 (resized).jpegIMG_6296 (resized).jpeg
#76 11 months ago

My buddy Chip TIG’d this and a few other parts for me. With the ramp done, I was able to get it off to the rotisserie. Cabinet is still in progress of reassembly.

Been sick the past day or so so it’s been slow going. Got more of the cabinet together until I ran out of steam.

Quoted from hawkeyexx:

Nice work. I enjoy reading your post. Have you ever made any videos?

Thanks. I haven’t because I feel weird being another talking head talking about me or what I’m doing. Never really felt I’d be doing this several years later and the amount I’ve done.

#82 11 months ago

Made it back out for a few hours today. Closing in on completion. New rails, legs, and lock down bar. Tilt is sending me side blades I ordered and paid cash at Pinfest. Should have them soon and can drop the playfield after that.

Quoted from Austin_Pinbarge:

Sweet Dude!
Looks really good. Question: I see you've got the Cartman topper wired up. Is that going to be wired to the G.I. or something else?
I managed to snag a whole set of those dolls of all the boys and am going to put them on top. I haven't decided if I'm going to light them.

It has an OE harness and topper. When I get back to it, I’ll get some pics of where it goes.

#87 11 months ago

Yep. Has a light and all.

Coin door installed along with Mylar flipper wear protection.

New clear display with ColorDMD installed.

Quoted from Austin_Pinbarge:

Huh. Mine has the original Cartman topper and sign, but it doesn't look like it was ever wired up for light. I wonder if that was added later in the production run.

It has this plastic thumb screw and an 89 flasher tied to it.

IMG_6333 (resized).jpegIMG_6333 (resized).jpeg
#94 10 months ago

Agreed, not sure what the deal is. I assume it was always on route, and the shape of it looks like it so I can't see why an Op would have put the effort into it. Will be interesting to see if anyone else knows.

#95 10 months ago

Tilt blades installed.
